Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bull, Exline and McCune and City Attorney Barta Atmak. Commissioner Jaeger absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 21, 1960 and Zoning Board Meeting of June 21, 1960 werezead and approved as read. Bids received on Hangar Entrance Taxiways at Salina Municipal Airport as follows: Brown and Brown, Inc., $2014.00 Wilmoth Construction Company $2,105.50 Engineer's Estimate $2,336.50 Commissioner Exline moved that contract be awarded to Brown and Brown, Inc., as per bid submitted in the sum of $2011..00 and check returned to unsuccessful bid- der. City Manager reported onthe following petitions: 2379 Paving Oakdale Drive from Elm Street to Riverside Boulevard 50% Commissioner McCune moved to approve for resolution. 2378 Curb sidewalk on West side of Willow Drive from Wilson to Crawford. Not 100% Commissioner Bull moved to refer to petitioners. On motion of Commissioner McCune resolution introduced for first reading for Asphalt Surfacing Park Street from Ninth Street to East right-of-way line of Missouri Pacific Railroad. Commissioner McCune moved to accept and City Clerk publish Notice. Recommending that Petition Number 2377 filed by Fred D. Rice for the rezoning of Lot 253 except the East 200 feet thereof, in Plat "G", Johnstown Avenue, be rezoned from Zone "A" to Zone "B". , be approved. Commissioner McCune moved to accept and City Clerk publish notice. Recommending that Petition Number 2376 filed by Frederick L. Finch for the rezoning of Lots 8, 9 and 10, Block 6, Calkin's Addition from Zone "B" to Zone "C" be approved. Commissioner Bull moved to accept and City Clerk publish Notice. On motion of Commissioner Exline resolution was introduced for first reading for the construction of a sidewalk onthe west parking of Beach Street from Bachtold to Cloud Street. Resolution passed: -,i 0 Number: �� D An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance con- demning certain land within the City of Salina , Kansas, for the use of said City in the widening and extending of Park Avenue from the south line of Talley Drive to he north line of Andrew Avenue; Beverly Drive from the west line of Broadway Boulevard to a point One Hundred Fifty -Six (156) feet west; Haskett Avenue from the south line of Talley Drive south One Hundred Sixty -Four (164) feet; and Albert Avenue from the east line of Ohio Street to the center line of the Smoky Hill River; fixing a benefit dis- trict therefor; and providing for the payment of the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Exline and McCune (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Jaeger absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6459. Estimate approved by Commissioner McCune. The following petitions were presented and on motion of McCune referred to the City Manager: Curb, gutter and paving Guernsey Drive, beginning at the Northeast property line of East Prescott Road at the intersection of Guernsey Drive and East Prescott Road; thence in a Northeasterly direction and then in a Southeasterly direction along Guernsey Drive to its intersection with East Prescott Road and Roach Street. Sanitary Sewers to serve all lots in Blocks five and six of the Replat of Lots 1 to 15 inclusive, Garden Home Addition to the City of Sal nay Saline County, Kansas. For vacation of easement on the South seven feet of Lot 29, Block 4, Holiday Addition. City Attorney instructed to prepare ordinance for changes in Milk Ordinance.
