Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bull, Exline and Jaeger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner McCune absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 24th, 1960 were read and approved as read. Bids on Fire Department Station Wagon referred to City Manager and Fire Chief. Chevrolet low bid $2,115.00 Approved by Commissioner Jaeger. On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followiir, vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Exline and Jaeger (4) Nays-. (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6448. An ordinance w as introduced for secondreading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salim., Kansas, to pay the cost of constructing Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 393 and 3911, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: • Ramsey, Bull, Exline and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6150. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the paving and grading of Wilson Street with concrete, Twenty-eight (25) feet wide fromtoe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the east line of Hancock Street to the west line of Merrill Street." On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the resolution was read and adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Exline and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2361. A resolution was introduced for secondxeading e titled: "A Resolution determin- ing necessity of and directing that the owner or ownersof certain lots construct, in compliance with plans and specifications of the City Engineer, a sidewalk abutting said lots within thirt- (30) days of the adoption and publication hereof and providing that in the event the owner or owners fail to do so, that the City of Salina shall proceed to construct or cause to a constructed said sidewalk and that the total cost thereof shall be assessed against such lot or lots on which such sidewalk shall abut as other special assessments," On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followix%gvote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Exline and Kaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2361. City Manager recommended that Petition Number 2364 filed by Riverside Invest- menn Compary, to vacate that portion of South Street which lies east of Fourth Street, in the City of Salina, Kansas, being that portion which abuts on the South of Lot 187 on Fourth Street in the Original Town of Salina, Kansas, be approved. Commissioner Jaeger moved to accept for vacation. The following petitions w ere presented and on motion of Commissioner Jaeger referred to the City Manager: Concrete paving Wilson Street from Merrill to Sheridan. Concrete paving Wilson Street from Sheridan to Custer. Sidewalk on west side of Beach from Bachtold to Cloud. To vacate the South five feet of easement in Lot 34 and the North Five feet of easement in Lot 33, both inBlock 4, Belmont Addition. Applications for Cereal Malt Beverage License received as follows: Robert G. Graybeal "The Hideway Tavern " Approved by Commissioner Jaeger. Carrell Hahn, "Brass Rail" Approved by Commissioner Bull. On motion of Camuaissioner Jaeger referred to the City Manager. Building Application received from Ted Collister for the erection of a structure located on Lots two (2) and four (4) except the west 104 feet; and the North 25 feet of Lot six (6), except the west 104 feet, on Highland Avenue, in Prescott's Addition, to the City of Salina, Kansas. To be used as an Auxiliary Off -Street Parking Lot for Sears Center. Held over one week. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appro- priationfor the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull, Exli.ne and Jaeger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner McCune absent.
