05-10-1960 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING • COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS MAY 10, 1960 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 10th, 1960. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and McCune and City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular Meetin of May 3rd, 1960 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to Notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for the construction of Elm Street and Ash Street Smoky Hill River Crossings as follows: Construction Industries, Inc., $935498.75 Jarvis Construction Company 101,395.00 Wilson Constructors 94,577.25 B & D Construction Company 993676.10 Engineer's Estimate 995490.00 I • Commissioner Exline, made motion to award contract to Construction Industries Inc., as per bid submitted and return bid bonds to unsuccessful bidders. reading. ', i' ' �, Commissioner McCune moved to approve. 2355. City Engineer filed survey and description of land under Resolution Number Commissioner McCune moved to accept and approve. Ordinance introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and definin;r certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered .423, 424 and 425, aid provid- ing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 423, 424 and 425, so created and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and forthe levying of special assessments against the property in said • district for the payment of the cost of such -conhtruction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Bull the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Ex1ine, Jaeger and McCune (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6443. Commissioner McCune moved that City Attorney be instructed to prepare a resolu- tion for Water line to Salina Land, Inc. Commissioner McCune moved that City Attorney be instructed to prepare a reso- lution for contract with Federal Government on Sewer Plains, City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 417, 418 and 419, provided for in Ordinance Number 6438. Approved by Commissioner Jaeger, City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for the construction of Lateral Sanitary SewerNumber 420, provided for in Ordinance Number 6439. Approved by Commissioner Jaeger. City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 421 and 4.22 and for Pumping Station, provided for in Ordinance Number 64.40. Stewart School) Commissioner McCune moved that Sidewalk Ordinance be introduced for first reading. Ordinance passed: �� �� �' Number Petition presented for rezoning the South 1/2 of Lot 9, Highland Avenue, Pres- cott's Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "B" Duplex. Commissioner Bull moved to refer to City Planning Commission. Petition presented for rezoning Lots 14,15,16 and 19, less the South 100 feet of the West 150 feet of Lot 19; also the East 150 feet of the North 370 feet of Lot 20, Surveyor's Plat #8, Salina, Kansas, to "D" Local Business. Commissioner McCune moved to refer to City Planning Commission. Petition presented from Ben Huser that street be opened in Block 1, Eisenhower Addition, as dedicated with Plat. Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer to City Attorney. Commissioner McCune moved that City Attorney check on sale of part of State Street Dump Grounds; and old Water Well property , located in Block 3, VanTrine's Addi- tion to the City of Salina, Kansas and then put up for Auction Sale; and also to check into Riverside Park property.
