APRIL 5, 1960 Regular Meet ing of the Board of Commissioners April 5, 1960 Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Bull, Ramsey and Jaeger and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioners McCune and Exline absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 29th, 1960 were read and approved as read. Bids for High Service Pump and Appurtenances for the City of Salina, Kansas, received as follows: M. W. Hills Construction $28,609.00 Wilson Constructors $29,7711.00 Engineer s Estimate $352000.00 Commissioner Bull moved that contract be awarded to M. W. Hills Construction As as per bid submitted in the amount of $28,609.00 and check returned to unsuccessful bidder. In compliance with Resolution Number 2321 City Engineer filed Plans and *Specifications for improvements in the East one-half of Shalimar Plaza Addition. Commissioner Bull moved to approve and receive bids April 19th 1960 at four o'clock P. M. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and establishing a Refuse Department within the Department of Service, providing for facilities for the systematic collection and disposal of refuse, establishing service fees and the collection thereof; defining terms, and fixing penalties for the violation thereof, and repealing Chapter 20, Revised Ordinances 1948 and Ordinances 5630 and 6414." On motion of Commissioner Bull the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Bull and Jaeger (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners McCune and exline absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6432. Letter presented from City Planning Commission recommending that Petition Number 2338, filed by Harry Banker, for the approval cf the replat of Moose Addition be approved. Commissioner Bull moved to accept. Letter presented from City Planning Commission recommending that Petition Number 2306 filed by Harry Banker,for permission to establish a Trailer Court on • certain property in the Replat of Moose Addition be approved. Commissioner Jaeger moved to accept and City Clerk publish Notice. No persons appeared to protest the rezoning of Lots 12 and 13 and Lots"A " and "B" in Block 5, Holiday Addition in the City of Salina, Kansas- from Zone "A" to Zone "D". Commissioner Bull moved that Zoning Ordinance be introduced for first reading. McCollum Const. Co. $67,600.00 Banker Construction Company $41,410.00 Commissioner Jaeger moved to award bid to Banker Construction Company as per bid submitted in the amount of $41,410.00. Ordinance introduced for first reading, authorizing and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes not to exceed $1,430,000.00 for Off -Street Parking. Commissioner Bull moved to refer to City Planning Commission. For extension of the 11B2 District norto th include Lot 5, Block 6 in South Park Addition, City of Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Bull moved to refer to City planning Commission. The following petitions were presented and on motion of Commissioner Bull referred to City Manager: For sidewalks from Beech Street to Maple Street, on the south side of Bachtold Avenue, Block 3, Lots 19, 20, 21, 22 inCloud Addition, Salina, Kansas. Concrete Paving Fourth Street from East Otis to Antrim. • I I Concrete Paving Fourth Street from Euclid to Otis. For sanitary sewer to serve Lots 1 thru 9 and 13 thru 19 in Block 9, and also Lots 1 thru 7 and Lots 15 to 23 in Block 10,Belmont Addition.
