02-23-1960 Minutes• COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS, FEBRUARY 23, 1960 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 23, 1960. Meeting was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey and City Att orney Bart responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 16th, 1960 were read and approved as read. No persons appeared to protest the rezoni ,of the North 26 feet 8 inches Lot 5, Block 8, Leavenworth Addition to the City of Salina, Kansasfrom Zone "D" to Zone "F." Commissioner Exline moved that Zoning Ordinance be introduced for first reading. Ordinance pass ed: ,7_1 r 60'. Number An ordinance was introduced for s econd reading entitled "An ordinance rati- fying and confirming -a contract with the Michae sen Construction Company for the con- struction of cer twin improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providinp for the issuance of Temporary Notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi- nance and it is Numbered 6417. An ordinance was introduced for second mading entitled: "An ordinance rati- fying and confirming a contra t with M. L Micha lsen doing business as Michaelsen Construction Company for the construction'of Main, Sanitary Sew er District "AL" and Pump Station and Later al Sanitary Sewer Districts 407,408, 409,410 and 411, and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes to pay the cost ther eof, pending the iss uance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by s ections and on its final adoption the roll was called.an the following vote was had; Ayes: :McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5 ) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi- nance and it is Numbered 6418. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled : "An ordinance rati- fying and confirming a contract with C. N. McCollum,, doing business as C. N. McCollum Construction Company for the constr uction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers 406 and 412, and providing for the issuance of T emporary Notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey 5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6419. The following letters received from thelCity Planning and Zoning Commission: Recommending that Petition Number 2320 filed by Land, Inc., for the inclusion of Key Acres Addition into the corporate limits of Salina, Kansas, and for approval of plat be approved. Commissioner Jaeger moved to refer to City Attorney for briefing. Recommending that Petition Number 2332 filed by Emma G. Simmons for the approv- al of Plat of Gebhart Manor Addition, Blocks 7,8;9,,10 and 11 be approved. Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept. Recommending that Petition Number 2331 filed by Kenneth N�rdboefor the rezon- ing of Lots 12 and 13 and Lots "A" and "B" in Block 5, Holiday Addition from "A"to "D" be approved. Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept and City Clerk publish notice. In compliance with Resolution Number 23114 City Engineer filed Plans and Speci- fications for improvements in Rolling Hills Addition. Commissioner. Jaeger moved to acept, and Daity Clerk advertise for bids to be • received up to and including, Tuesday, March 15th, 1960 at four o'clock P. M. Commissioner Ramsey moved that H.R. Hardesty and his Attorney, consult with the City Manager and the City Att orney regarding the closing of alley between the _ 400 block on South Connecticut and South Ohio Street , in the City of Salina, Kansas. John A. Neal appeared regarding Dixie Camp Tavern , Beer License and was re- ferred to Sanitation Department of City regarding their re quirements. Petition presented for curbing, guttering and paving North Twelfth Street from Hamilton, north to Lot 15 of Block 49, On motion of Commissioner Jaeger, referred to City Manager. FEBRUARY 23, 1 960 Meeting of Board of Zonirg Appeals, February 23, 1960 Meetiry was called to order by Mayor McCunR,the roll was called and Commissioners McCurw,Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Building Application was received from Penny Building, Inc., for the erection of a .retail store building at 128 and 130 South Santa Fe Avenue. Commissioner Exline moved to approve for Hearing, march 8th, 1960 at four o'clock P. M. On motion of Commissioner Exline Board of Zoning Appeals adjourned. City Clerk
