Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissionrs February 16th, 1960. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor McCune, the roll was called and Commissioners McCune,
Bull, Exli N,Jaeger and Ramsey and City Att orney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meetirg of February 9th, 1960 read and approved
as r ead.
Bids received for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers 406 and 412
(Job 399) as follows:
C. N. McCollum Construction Company $9519.60
Wilmoth Construction Company 12,647.41
Engineer 's Estimate 10,773.40
On motion of Commissioner Bull contract awarded to C. N. McCollum Construction
Company as per bid submitted in the amount of $9,519.60 and check returned to unsuc- •
cessful bidder.
Contract ordinance for Job 399 introduced for first reading.
Ordinance passed: Number C '�
Mayor appointed the following appraisers f or Job 399
Approved by Commissioner Bull. ,
Bids received for `curbi�rig; guttering and paving streets in Ingermanson
Addition No. 2, (Job 398) as follows:
Michaelsen Construction Company $154,509.50
Brown and Brown, Inc. 179,021.00
Wilmoth Construction Company 183,144.50
Engineer 's Estimate 185,842.00
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger contrat awarded to Michaelsen Construction
Company as per bid submitted in the amours of $154,509.50, and checks returned to
unsuccessful bidders.
Contract Ordinance for Job 3/98 introduced for first raad 7 g.

Mayor appointed the following appraisers for Job 398
Approved by Commissioner Jaeger.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
prescribing the salaries of certain officers of the City of Salina, Kansas, and repeal-
ing Sections 1-602 to 1-609 both inclusive of Ordinance Number 6295."
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: McCune, Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 6416.
A resolution was introduced and pass ed entitled: "A Resolution authorizing
and orderi n certain street, sew er and sidewalk improvements, ordering preparation of
plans and spebifications and the estimate of costs."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,
Bull, Exline, Jaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 2314.
City Manager reported on the following petition:
No. 2318 Curb, Gutter and pave Rahm Street from Fourth'to Third.
Commissioner Exline moved to approve for resolution.
Letter presented from City Planning Commission recommending that Petition •
Number 2321 filed by John J. Becker for the rezoning of Lots 29 and 31, Block 3,
E. M. I. Addition from Zone "B" to Zone "D" be approved.

Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept and Oity Clerk publish notice.
A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled : "A Resolution directing
and ordering a public hearing on the advisability of street, sewer and sidewalk im-
provements in certain districts and giving notice of such hearing."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,
Pull, Exline, Ramsey and Jaeger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 2315.
Engineering proposal with Bucher
and Willis on Off -Street Parking.
Commissioner Jaeger moved to approve.
Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed Estimate in the amourt of $5,747.44 to
Armco Drainage and Metal Products Inc., for Guardl,Fence (Flood Control).
Estimate approved by Commissioner Bull.!
Letter from Santa Fe Railroad Company for vacation of alleys.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey referred to he City Manager.
The following petitions were presented and on motion of Commissioner Jaeger
referred to he City Manager:
Concrete paving Seventh Street from Harsh to Antrim.
Sanitary Sewer to serve all of Nordboe Addition.
Grading, paving and curbing of Otto Avenue; Meadowlark Lane and of Haskett Av-
enue from from the south line of Ingermanson 2nd Addition to the south line of Meadow-
lark Lane with six inch Reinforced concrete.
Curb, Gutter and pave Wisconsin Street from Iron Avenue north to the north
line of Lot Two (2) Surveyor's Plat No. 8, to t he i City of Salina, Kansas .
The following petitions were presented and on motion of Commissioner Bull
referred to the City Planning Commission:
For rezoning Lot 12, Block 1, Replat of �dgemere Addition, City of Salina,
Saline County, Kansas from Zone "A" to Zone "D" Local Business.
For Rezoning Lots 12 and 13 and "A" and "B". Block 5, Holiday Addition
from Zone "A" to Zone "D".
For approval of Plat of Uebhart Manor Addition, Blocks 7, 8, 92 10 and 11.
A resolution was introduced and passed"rjelating to agreement with Wilson and
Company, Engineers and Architects for engineer irg services in c6nnection with Sewage
Treatment Plant."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resplution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: McCune,
Pull, 6xline, �Iaeger and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0)' Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 2316.
Alley Vacation Ordinance introduced for, first reading.
Commissioner Jaeger moved that ordinances be introduced for first reading,
amending Refuse Ordinance to read: " $1.25 be charged to all family units up to two
apartment units and they be allowed to hire privlate carriers for additional hauling
if they wish".
An ordinance was introduced and pass edllentitled-» "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of cert ain claims.,"
On motion of Commissioner Jaeger the ordinance was read and adopted bv s ections
