06-10-1968 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING I COMMISSIONERS' ROOM Salina, Kansas June 10, 1968 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners met at 4:00 o'clock on June 10, 1968. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Yost, the roll was called and Commissioners Yost, Casebeer, Rundquist, Stark, Waddell, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. The Minutes, of the Regular Meeting of June 3, 1968, were approved as mailed. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the Ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Yost, Casebeer, Rundquist, Stark, Waddell (5)• Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 7064. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading May 27, 1968. The City Engineer reported on Petition Number 3000 which requests parking on both sides of Eleventh Street, from South Street to Morrison Street, and recommended the parking be permitted. A motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer 'to allow parking on both sides of Eleventh Street, from South Street to Prescott Avenue. ;Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Carried. An application to transfer a beer license was filed by Mablee LeDuc for the North Santa Fe Recreation from 806 North Santa Fe Avenue to 736 North Santa Fe. A motion was made by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist to approve the transfer. 'Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Approved. An application was filed by Mrs. 0. Johnson, 1301 North Front Street to keep 2 horses at that address. A motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Stark to approve the application. Ayes: (5)• Nays: (0). Approved. A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "WHEREAS, UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY has tendered to City of Salina, State of Kansas, an agreement covering the constructicin, maintenance and operation of (a) an 8 -inch water pipe line on the right-of-way of the Railroad Company's McPherson Branch, near Salina, Kansas; and (b) a 6 -inch sewer pipe line on the right- of-way and under the track of the Railroad Company's McPherson Branch near Salina, Kansas; said agreement being identified as Union Pacific Railroad Company's C.D.No. 42989-2; and...'' On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the Resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Yost, Casebeer, Rundquist, Stark, Waddell (5)• Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2996. Carried. A letter was received from Wilber Johnson resigning from the Salina City Planning Commission and the Citizen's Advisory Committee. A motion was made by Commissioner Casebeer,] seconded by Commissioner Rundquist to accept his resignation. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Carried. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, an ordinance; was introduced for first reading changing the name of the Police Court of the City of Salina, to Municipal Court and designating the "Judge" to "Municipal Judge". Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Carried. Ordinance Passed: Number: On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, an ordinance was introduced for first reading establishing Court Costs for the Municipal Court. ($1.00 and $2.00) Ayes: (5)• Nays: (0). Carried. Ordinance Passed: ,L 2� 1Q�� Number: On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Stark, an ordinance was introduced for first reading for the licenseing of persons who receive compensation for becoming a surety on Bail Bonds. ($10.00 and $5.00) Ayes: (5)• Nays: (0). Carried. Ordinance Passed: l`1 1908 Number: A motion was made by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark to approve final payment to Decatur Iron and Steel Company, Inc. for the Police Administration Building in the amount of $2,330.00, less $200.00 retained, payable upon completion of work. Ayes: (5). Nays: (0). Approved. 1 581 An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (bills) On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Yost, Casebeer, Rundquist, Stark, Waddell (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinanc and it is numbered A-1438. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
