REQUEST FOR SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
We, the undersigned, being duly elected, qualified and acting
City Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, do hereby request a
special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas, to be held on the -{,x" 1 day of Apri 1 , 1968 at SJ- 3 Cn A, M.
CST for the purpose of considering and voting on the following:
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE OFFICERS OF
THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, TO CALL AN ELECTION FOR THE
PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID
CITY THE FOLLOWING PROPOSITION: SHALL THE CITY OF SALINA,
KANSAS, ISSUE ITS GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$5,400,000 PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A 12-1736
to 12-1739 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACQUIRING A SITE FOR AND
CONSTRUCTING, FURNISHING AND EQUIPPING A PUBLIC BUILDING
TO BE USED AS AN AUDITORIUM.

Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 23, 1968. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Yost, the roll was called and Commissioners Yost, Stark, Waddell,
City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioners Casebeer and
Rundquist absent.
Meeting was held for the purpose of acting upon an ordinance introduced on
April 22, 1968 to call a Special Election for the Multi -Purpose Building on May 21, 1968.
k An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE authorizing
i and directing the officers of the City of Salina, Kansas, to call an election for the
purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of said City the following proposition:
Shall the City of Salina, Kansas, issue its General obligation bonds in the amount of
$5,400,000 pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A. 12-1736 to 12-1739 for the purpose of
I acquiring a site for and constructing, furnishing and equipping a public building to be
used as an Auditorium."

On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, the
ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had:
Ayes: Yost, Stark, Waddell (3). Nays: (0). Commissioners Casebeer and Rundquist absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 7053. Carried.
On a motion by Commissioner Stark, the Special Meeting adjourned.
