Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 11, 1968. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Casebeer,
Stark, Waddell, Yost, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 4, 1968 were read and approved.
The Mayor proclaimed the Week of March 17-24 "INTERNATIONAL DEMOLAY WEEK"
Bids were received on Job 492 for Water and Sewer Mains on East North Street:
Petition Number 2989 was filed by the Salina Building Company for the rezoning of
the South 54 feet of Lot 3, Block 1, Holiday Addition to District "F". On a motion by
Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, the petition was referred to the
Salina City Planning Commission.
The Mayor, with the approval of the City Commissioners, accepted the resignation
of 24 members of the Citizens' Advisory Committee. A motion was made by Commissioner
Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Yost that the resignations be accepted.
The Mayor, with the approval of the City Commissioners, appointed 10 new members
to the Citizens' Advisory Committee. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by
Commissioner Yost, the appointments were approved.

A letter was received from the Salina Community Inn of America, requesting a
change in the City's Cereal Malt Beverage Ordinances.
On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, an ordinance
was introduced for first reading amending Section 6-49 of The Salina Code.

was introduced for first reading amending Section 6-22 of The Salina Code.

The City Engineer read a letter from the Corps of Engineers on flood protection
j on North Fifth Street north of the present levee. The Corps stated it didn't feel this
area would be feasibly economical for flood protection at this time. On a motion by
Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, the Board of Commissioners voted i
to take it under advisement.

On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, the bid was f
awarded
to Lucas Plumbing Company, subject to checking by the City Engineering Office.

On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the Contract
Ordinance
for Job 492 was introduced for first reading.

The City Engineer reported that Petition Number 2988, for the paving of North 13th
Street,
had 100% signers. On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner
Waddell,
the petition was approved and a Resolution for the paving was introduced for first
reading.

The City Manager reported on Petition Number 2986, which requested a street light
Drive in front of the Redeemer Lutheran Church. There is a street light approx.
100 feet
away now, and he recommended the petition be denied. On a motion by Commissioner
Stark, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the petition was tabled for further checking by
the City
Manager's Office.

Park for $1,250.00, subject to checking by the City Manager.
The Mayor congratulated Duane Pearce for his new job and thanked him for the i
fine work he has done for the City.
On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
