COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING

February 19, 1968
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 19, 1968. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist,
Casebeer, Yost, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioners
Stark and Waddell were absent.
The Mayor proclaimed the week of February 18 to 24 "ENGINEER'S WEEK".
Bids were received on a Tractor Mower for Flood Control.

Salina Implement Company 3,097.94
Vahsholtz Implement Company 3,423.70
On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the bids
were referred to the City Manager to check, and make a report on February 26th. Carried.
A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION authorizing and
ordering certain sanitary sewer and water main improvements, ordering preparation of plans
and specifications, and the estimate of costs."
On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the
Resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist,
Casebeer, Yost (3). Nays: (0). Commissioners Stark and Waddell were absent. Mayor
approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2976. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing
for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and
thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and
prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the
ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had:
Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Yost (3). Nays: (0). Commissioners Stark and Waddell were
absent. Mayor approved the Ordinance and it is numbered 7041. Carried. Ordinance was
introduced for first reading on February 5, 1963.
A Cereal Malt Beverage Application was filed by David S. LeBer for the Village
Gate at 1503 South 9th Street. On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner
Casebeer, action was deferred one week or until the fourth member of the Commission is
present.
On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, a special
assessment ordinance for sidewalks installed in Job 476 (Willis Avenue, Wilson Street,
Republic Avenue, Front Street, Third Street) was introduced for first reading.

A letter was received from the Johnson Agency, asking for a waiver of the 200 ft.
requirements for a restaurant serving cereal malt beverages for Lum's on West Crawford.
On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, action was deferred
one week or until the fourth member of the Commission is present.
City Manager reported on the property south of Crawford, West of the River and
east of Flood Control Dikes which is owned by Mr. Roy Faith. He had a Quit Claim Deed
signed by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Faith for $5,000.00 for this property. On a motion by Commissioner
Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the City will purchase this piece of property for
this price to protect the Flood Control in that area. Carried.
A Mr. Davis was present, and asked about a concession stand at Lakewood Park this
summer. He was instructed by the City Commission to check with the City Manager.
A bill from Bucher and Willis was presented, on the Police Administration
Building for Inspection services for October, November and December in the amount of
$3,344.76. On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the
bill was approved.

ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was
had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Yost (3). Nays: (0). Commissioners'Stark and Waddell
were absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1424. Carried.
On a motion by Commissioner Yost, the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
