11-13-1967 Minutes40,24 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS' ROOM Salina, Kansas i November 13, 1967 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 13, 1967. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. The Minutes, of the Regular Meeting of November 6, 1967, were read and approved. The Mayor made a presentation of Recruit Police Patrolman Certificates and Commission Cards. Bids were received for 6 months supply of gasoline for Central Garage. The Bids were opened and tabulated by the City Clerk. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the bid was awarded to Standard Oil Company, of Kansas City, Mo. as low bidder for the six months period beginning November 22, 1967 to May 22, 1968. (Regular .1147 ; Ethyl .1255fi; Average (3 to 1) .1228 ) The City Engineer reported back on the Storm Drainage condition in the 1800 block of South Fourth Street. A motion was made by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark to accept the City Engineer's recommendation to increase the size of the storm sewer. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the Mayor was authorized to sign the First Supplement to the Ambulance Service Agreement which was dated December 19, 1966; which states the Ambulance Service shall be operated under the supervision of the Salina -Saline County Civil Defense Council. The director shall be charged with the responsibility of coordinating the activities of the Civil Defense and Ambulance Service. Approved. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, permission to release State Highway Department easement on the Northwest side of Broadway Boulevard, north of North Street, which was used to fill Dry Creek when the Overpass was built about 1937, to the adjacent property owner was approved. The City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for paving, storm sewer, sidewalks, lights, etc. for the Civic Center. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the Plans and Specifications were approved and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be received on December 4, 1967. Mr. Marietta was spokesman for a group of property owners on Eastborough Road who appeared to protest the annexation of their property to the City Limits. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, the following bill for the Police Administration Building was approved: B. J. Frick and Company, G-6 $19,752.93 On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, the following Change Order was approved: B. J. Frick and Company, G-1 No change in the Totals. i i An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." i On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5).
