11-06-1967 Minutes0�0 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS' ROOM Salina, Kansas November 6, 1967 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 6, 1967. Meeting was E called to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. The Minutes, of the regular Meeting of October 30th, 1967, were read and approved Bids were received on a Truck Mounted Reversible Snow Plow: Lovan Machinery Company, Wichita, Ks. $1,050.00 i Foley Tractor Company, Salina, Ks. #1 2,315.00 j #2 2,336.00 A motion was made by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Yost to award the bid to Lovan Machinery Company, subject to low bid meeting the specifications. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE pertaining to side yard fences and hedges; regulating the height thereof; amending section 9-352(2) of The Salina Code, and repealing the said original section." On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 7018. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading on October 16, 1967. Mrs. Cole and others appeared regarding the Side Yard Fence Ordinance and filed a complaint regarding the same. Mrs. Lott was also present. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE annexing certain land to the City of Salina, Kansas, in conformity with the provisions of K. S. A. 1967 Supp. 12-520." On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 7019. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading October 30, 1967. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, an ordinance was introduced for first reading for the annexation of certain land to the City of Salina, Kansas, and to come up for second reading on November 20, 1967. i I Ordinance Passed: I n .Apy)AU , L" 14(.7 Number: o20 Hartzel Wooley appeared regarding the road from Euclid to the Flood Control Levee On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the City Manager is authorized to have it sanded. Approved. The Mayor, with the approval of the City Commissioners, appointed the following to the "Housing Authority of the City of Salina" under Resolution 2954: George Johnson - 1 year term Mildred Riddle - 2 year term Cecil Beverly - 3 year term L. M. Srack - 4 year term Don McPhail - 5 year term On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the following bills were approved: Partial Estimate #3, Job 481, Brown & Brown, Inc. for $5,209.42. Partial Estimate #1, Job 483, for Water Main, P & H Const. for $27,992.22. Partial Estimate #4, Job 480, Brown & Brown, Inc., for $34,877.50. On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the following bills for the Police Administration Building were approved: Wilber Johnson, Sixth Monthly Payment $518.00 Electrical Equipment Company, E-5 3,742.11 Lucas Plumbing Company, M-6 12,661.24 Decatur Iron and Steel, J-4 4,'509.90 1 1 1 - M - An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
