Meeting was called to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. i i The Minutes, of the Regular Meeting of October 9, 1967, were read and approved. The Mayor proclaimed the Week of October 22nd to 29th as Child Evangelism Week. I The Mayor proclaimed October 23rd as Day -In -Court for Legal Secretaries in Salina, Kansas. Bids were received on Job 484, for painting the 500,000 gallon water tank on Gypsum Hill. Bids were received on 12 ton truck for the Park Department. Fleming Motor Company, Inc. $2,850.00 Jim Sullivan Chevrolet Company 3,410.81 Sid Bacon Motor Company 3,475.14 Long McArthur, Inc. 3,596.84 On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the bid was awarded to Fleming Motor Company, subject to meeting the specifications for $2,850.00 cash difference. Bids were received on Police Cars. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the bids were referred to the City Manager to be checked and to get appraisals on the used cars traded in, and report on October 23, 1967. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE authorizing the City of Salina, Kansas, to purchase and acquire a building, improvements, fixtures and equipment to be used for commercial facilities; authorizing and directing the issuance of $900,000 principal amount of Salina, Kansas, Community Inn and Convention Center Revenue Bonds of 1967, Series A, of said City for the purpose of purchasing and acquiring a building, improvements, fixtures and equipment to be used for commercial facilities." On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 7012. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE authorizing the City of Salina, Kansas, to acquire a site for a building to be used for commercial facilities and authorizing and directing the issuance of $600,000 principal amount of Salina, Kansas, Community Inn and Convention Center Revenue Bonds of 1967, Series B, of said City for the purpose of acquiring a site for a building to be used for commercial facilities; prescribing the form and authorizing the execution of a lease agreement by and between said City and Salina Community Inn of America, Inc., a Kansas Corporation." On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 7013. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE repealing Ordinance Number 6921, City of Salina, Kansas." On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following Grote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 7014. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE repealing Ordinance Number 6922, City of Salina, Kansas" On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 7015. Carried. r Petition Number 2972 was filed by Mrs. Robert Hanchett asking revision of city license fees relating to Mobile Home Courts. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the petition was referred to the City Manager. Petition Number 2973 was filed by H. H. Hixson for water service north of US 81 By-pass and west of the Union Pacific Railroad. On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the petition was referred to the City Manager. A letter was received from Rev. Robert M. Rymph, resigning as chairman of the Salina Cultrual Arts Commission and the Citizens Advisory Commission. On a motion by f Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost,. the resignation was accepted and the letter was filed. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Stark, an ordinance was introduced for first reading pertaining to side yard fences and hedges; and relating to the height thereof. Ordinance Passed: �O ��0 % Number: C The Mayor, with the approval of the Commissioners, appointed Stanley Swander, Journeyman Electrician, to the Electricians Examining Board to July 24, 1969, in place of Dean Gish. On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, Bucher and j Willis Inspection Services on Police Administration Building, in the amount of $3,326.45, was approved. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (bills) On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1404. Carried. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, the Board of Commissioners adjourned. H. E. Peterson, City Clerk
