08-28-1967 Minutes1 1 n COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS' ROOM Salina, Kansas August 28, 1967 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 28, 1967. Meeting was i called to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioners Waddell and Yost absent. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 21, 1967 were read and approved. Bids were received on Job 483 for Schilling Water Main. P & H Construction Company Salina, Kansas $53,466.40 Brown and Brown, Inc. Salina, Kansas 57,968.60 Rexroad and Son Salina, Kansas 58,181.75 i Engineer's Estimate 63,050.50 On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the bid was awarded to P & H Construction Company. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Contract Ordinance for Job 483 was introduced for first reading. Ordinance Passed: Number: The City Manager recommended the City Commission defer any action at this time on the license fee for pawn shops. The City Commission will review all license fees later this year. i A petition was filed by G. F. and Lucille Lott, 404 West Claflin, making an appeal of a decision rendered by the Board of Building Appeals concerning permissive height of a sideyard fence (hedge). On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Stark, a decision was deferred until the meeting of September 11, 1967, for a legal opinion by the City Attorney, whether or not the City Commission could act on this appeal. A cereal malt beverage license application was filed by Nash Finch Company, for 1750 West Crawford. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the application was approved. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Stark, a six month temporary agreement was made with Don Tucker d/b/a City Bus Service for a $900.00 a month subsidy.
