Meeting was called to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 5, 1967, were read and approved. A Resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A RESOLUTION relating to the resurfacing of Bond Street with hot mixed asphaltic concrete (Forty (40) feet wide) from the east line of Ninth Street to the west line of Highland Avenue." On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Resolution j was adopted as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, j Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2939. Carried. Resolution was introduced for first reading on June 5, 1967. A Resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A RESOLUTION relating to the resurfacing of Eleventh Street with hot mixed asphaltic concrete (Thirty (30) feet wide) from the south line of Morrison Street to the north line of Prescott Avenue." On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Resolution was adopted as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it, is numbered 2940. Carried. Resolution was introduced for first reading on June 5, 1967. A Resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A RESOLUTION relating to the resurfacing of Elm Street with hot mixed asphaltic concrete (Thirty-seven (37) feet wide)from the east line of College Street to the west line of Ninth Street." On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Resolution was adopted as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2941. Carried. Resolution was introduced for first reading on June 5, 1967. i A Resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A RESOLUTION relating to the resurfacing of Front Street with hot mixed asphaltic concrete (Thirty-seven (37) feet wide)from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of Walnut Street." A Resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A RESOLUTION relating to the resurfacing of Gypsum Avenue with hot mixed asphaltic concrete (Thirty-seven (37) feet' wide)from the east line of Front Street to the west line of Columbia Avenue." On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Resolution was adopted as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2943. Carried. Resolution was introduced for first reading on June 5, 1967. A Resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A RESOLUTION relating to the resurfacing of Penn Avenue with hot mixed asphaltic concrete (Thirty-seven (37) feet wide)from the north line of Iron Avenue to the south line of Ash Street." On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Resolution was adopted as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2944. Carried. Resolution was introduced for first reading on June 5, 1967. A Resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A RESOLUTION relating to the resurfacing of Prescott Avenue with hot mixed asphaltic concrete (Thirty- (30) feet wide) from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of Eleventh Street." On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Resolution i was adopted as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2945. Carried. Resolution was introduced for first reading on June 5, 1967. 66 A Resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A RESOLUTION relating to the resurfacing of Republic Avenue with hot mixed asphaltic concrete (Thirty-seven (37) feet wide) from the east line of Ninth Street to the west line of Fifth Street." On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Resolution was adopted as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2946. Carried. Resolution was introduced for first reading on June 5, 1967. A Resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A RESOLUTION relating to the resurfacing of Sunset Drive with hot mixed asphaltic concrete (Forty (40) feet wide) from the west line of Ninth Street to the west line of Highland Circle." On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Resolution was adopted as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2947. Carried. Resolution was introduced for first reading on June 5, 1967. Ordinance Number 6981 for Electric Franchise and Ordinance Number 6982 for Gas Franchise were read first and second reading, and have now been published once a week on May 17, 24, 31, and June 7,and are ready for third reading and final publication. The Mayor stated the ordinances would be on the agenda for the next meeting, and anyone wanting to ask questions regarding these ordinances should be present. A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION relative to the leasing for oil and gas of the real estate to be used for the construction of a Municipal Golf Course." On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the Resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2948. Carried. A letter was received from the Salina City Planning Commission regarding Petition Number 2951, filed by Kenneth W. Farrar, for the rezoning of Lot 154 on Fourth Street, Original Townsite (228 South Fourth) to District "D". The Salina City Planning Commission recommended the petition be denied. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the petition was referred back to the Planning Commission and asked that i they try to have a vote of the Planning Commission of either five for or five against. i On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Stark, that an ordinance amending Section 9-263 (5) be placed on first reading and be read by the City Clerk. Motion did not carry. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, that an ordinance amending Section 1.9 of the Uniform Plumbing (lode be tabled until the next meeting. Carried. I On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Yost, that an ordinance amending Section 9-31 be placed on first reading. Carried. Ordinance Passed: Number: A Beer License application was filed by Harold Harvey, for 502 North Third, Red's Place. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the application was denied. The City Manager reported that the Municipal Band would play at Lakewood Park on July 4th. The City Manager reported that the Scar Key Valve at the Flood Channel entrance had been repaired and raised. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the City Manager was authorized to sign a contract with John Srna, to cut the grass at the Old Municipal Airport. I The City Engineer filed partial estimate Number 2 - Job 475 - Country Club Heights Addition Number 4 - Harbin Construction - in the amount of $4,783.60.
