06-05-1967 MinutesF� 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS' ROOM Salina, Kansas June 5, 1967 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 5, 1967. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Casebeer, Waddell, Yost, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioner Stark absent. I The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 29, 1967, were read and approved. The City Commission reconsidered Petition Number 2948 and letter of May 1, 1967, regarding the rezoning of the West 13'3" of Lot 2 and all of Lot 3, University Addition to District "DD". On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the petition was denied. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE defining the duties and responsibilities of the Public Officer for the enforcement of the Minimum Housing Code of the City of Salina, Kansas; amending Section 16-19 of The Salina Code and repealing said original section." i On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the ordinance, was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Waddell, Yost (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Stark absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6990. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading May 29, 1967. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for the adoption of Rules and Regulations applicable to The Salina Municipal Airport." On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Waddell, Yost (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Stark absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6991. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading May 29, 1967. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the City Clerk; was instructed to advertise for bids on Fire Truck Chassis for Foam Truck, to be received on June 19, 1967. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, a Resolution was introduced for first reading for the asphalt paving of Penn Avenue, from Iron Avenue to Ash Street. Resolution Passed: � J--- � / Number: Change Order - M-2 - Lucas Plumbing Company - on Police Administration Building, in the amount of $3,592.28. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the Change Order was approved. A letter was received from the VFW asking permission to have a Fireworks Display in cooperation with Scout Leader Paul Miller and Troop 215 at Lakewood Park on July 4th, 1967. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the Fireworks Display was approved. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for resealing certain streets, to be received on June 19, 1967. (Engineering Job 479) A•Resolution was introduced and passed honoring the Memory of Henry R. Salmans, Sr. and showing the City's appreciation for his professional ability and public service. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the Resolution was adopted as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Waddell, Yost (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Stark absent. Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2938. Carried. The City Manager referred to changes in the Plumbing Code and stated he would bring the matter up at the next meeting. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an a appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (bills) On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Waddell, Yost (4).
