05-08-1967 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS' ROOM Salina, Kansas May 8, 1967 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 8, 1967. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 1, 1967, were read and approved. The Mayor proclaimed May as Month of National Radio and KSAL Anniversary Month. The Mayor proclaimed May 7 to 14, National Music Week. On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Stark, an ordinance was introduced for first reading making it unlawful for any person to impersonate any officer or employee of the City of Salina. Ordinance Passed: �`" ( f t C%l^ 7 Number: l% A Resolution was introduced and passed -en- titled: A RESOLUTION providing that the; Parking Permits issued by the City of Salina, Kansas, shall be valid at any parking stall adjacent -to a s_ix_o_r ten-hour Parking Meter." On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the Resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2931. Carried. l Petition Number 2951 was filed by Kenneth W. Farrar, for the rezoning of Lot 154 j on Fourth Street, Original Town, to Zone "D". On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, J seconded by Commissioner Stark, the petition was referred to the Salina City Planning Commission. Petition Number 2952 was filed by R. E. Ames, against the black top covering over the brick street in the 300 block on North Penn Avenue. (22 signatures) On a motion by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the petition was ordered filed. A cereal malt beverage license application was filed by Nellie Coffman, for the sale of package beer only, at 414 North Broadway (Fred's Bait and Tackle). On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the application was approved. Past Mayor's Plaque was presented to G. N. Waddell. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost, a Dedicatory Deed, for Lot 17, Block 4, in the Replat of a part of Lots 15, 16, 22, and all of Lots 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, in Block 4, of the Replat of Moose Addition, was accepted and the Mayor was authorized to sign. The Mayor made the following appointments, with the approval of the City i Commissioners. Pat Bolen - reappointed to Salina City Planning Commission for 3 year term to May 1, 1970. Wilbur Johnson - reappointed to Salina City Planning Commission for 3 year term to May 1, 1970. Laverne Turner - reappointed to Plumbers Examining Board for 2 year term to May 1, 1969. Clifford Johnson (Master) - reappointed to Plumbers Examining Board for 2 year term to May 1, 1969. Robert Parker (Journeyman) - appointed to Plumbers Examining Board for 1 year term to May 1, 1968. i City Engineer filed Final Estimate for Job 463 - Brown and Brown, Inc., in the amount of $3,804.86. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, the final estimate was approved. City Engineer filed Partial Estimate for Job 475 - Harbin Construction Company, in the amount of $1,450.80. On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the estimate was approved. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (payroll) i On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Waddell, Yost (5).
