COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS' ROOM
Salina, Kansas
May 1, 1967
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 1, 1967. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Casebeer,
Stark, Yost, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioner
Waddell absent.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 24, 1967, were read and approved.
The Mayor proclaimed Veterans of Foreign Wars Annual Sale of Buddy Poppies.
The Mayor proclaimed Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Week, May 1 thru May 7.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing
for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein
and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City
and prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the ordinance was
I adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes:
Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark,Yost (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Waddell absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6978. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for
first reading April 17, 1967.
A letter was received from the Salina City Planning Commission regarding Petition
Number 2948, filed by Jack H. Burt, for the rezoning of the West 13'3" of Lot 2 and all
of Lot 3, Ash Street, University Addition to "DD". The Salina City Planning Commission
recommended the petition be denied. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by
Commissioner Stark, the recommendation was accepted and the petition was denied.
Cereal Malt Beverage License application for Fred Coffman, 418 North Broadway, was
considered. On a motion by Commissioner Yost, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the
application was denied. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for
the vacation of a certain easement located in Block 4, in the Replat of Moose Addition
to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas."
On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes:
Run4quist, Casebeer, Stark, Yost (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Waddell absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6979. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for
first reading April 17, 1967.
A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION approving the low
bids submitted for the construction of the Joint City -County Building and Police
Administration Building and recommending acceptance of the same by the Saline County -
City Building Authority."
On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the resolution
was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark,
Yost (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Waddell absent. Mayor approved the Resolution and
it is numbered 2930. Carried.

On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the City Clerk
was instructed to advertise for Gasoline Bids for the Central Garage, to be received on
May 15, 1967. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (bills)
On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes:
Rundquist, Casebeer, Stark, Yost (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Waddell absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is'numbered A-1378. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (bills)
On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Yost, the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was hada Ayes: Rundquist,
Casebeer, Stark Yost (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Waddell absent. Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is numbered A-1379. Carried.
On a motion by Commissioner Stark, the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
