Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 3, 1967. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Waddell, the roll was called and Commissioners Waddell, Casebeer,
Rundquist, Stark, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioner
Exline absent.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 27, 1967, were read and approved.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing
for the vacation of Neal Avenue in Key Acres Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County,
Kansas."
On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes:
Waddell, Casebeer, Rundquist, Stark (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Exline absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6962. Carried. Ordinance was introduced
for first reading March 27, 1967.
The City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for Sidewalk Job 476. On a motion
by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the Plans and Specifications
were accepted and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be received
April 10, 1967.
Notice of hearing on proposed assessments was taken up for the improvements in:

There were no protests or changes in the proposed assessments as filed. On a motion
by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the assessments were approved,
and an ordinance was introduced for first reading for each Job. Carried.

On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, an
ordinance was introduced for first reading for the improvements in Job 460. (Paving of
Alley first east of Santa Fe from Crawford to Bond; paving of Diamond Drive from 9th Street
West to City Limits; paving of Dover Drive from Teakwood to Westwood; paving of Greeley
Avenue from Kenwood Avenue to Hazel Court)

On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, an
ordinance was introduced for first reading for Water services replaced in Blocks 1 & 2,
Riverside Park Addition.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for
the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and
thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and
prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the ordinanc
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell,-
Casebeer, Rundquist, Stark (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 6963. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first
reading March 20, 1967.

On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, an ordinance
was introduced for first reading, amending Section 12-126 of The Salina Code.

On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, an ordinance
was introduced for first reading providing for the adoption of Rules and Regulations
applicable to public parks operated by the City of Salina, Kansas.

On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, an ordinance
was introduced for first reading repealing Section 9-73 of The Salina Code.

Mrs. French appeared regarding Taxi Cab Insurance. On a motion by Commissioner
Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the matter was referred to the City Manager
and the City Attorney.
City Engineer filed Partial Estimate Number 2 - Job 463 - Brown and Brown, Inc. -
in the amount of $13,171.05. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner
Casebeer, the estimate was approved.
Petition Number 2948 was filed by Jack H. Burt, for the Rezoning to "DD", the West
13 feet 3 inches of Lot 2 and all of Lot 3, Ash Street, University Addition (609 W. Ash)
On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the petition was
referred to the Salina City Planning Commission.
On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the Mayor
was authorized to sign the termination of water contract AF 14(612)1590 between
the U. S. Government (Air Force) and the City of Salina.

The City of Salina was presented the First Westinghouse Florescent Light Bulb manufactured
at their Salina plant.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (bills)
On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes:
Waddell, Casebeer, Rundquist, Stark (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1373. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE Making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
