02-27-1967 Minutes1 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS' ROOM Salina, Kansas February 27, 1967 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 27, 1967. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Waddell, the roll was called and Commissioners Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 20, 1967, were read and approved. A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION directing and ordering a public hearing on the advisability of curb, gutter, paving, sidewalk, sewer and water improvements in certain districts and giving notice of such hearing." (Country Club Number 4) j On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the resolution wasi approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2924. Carried. Hearing to be held March 20, 1967. j A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION approving and providing for the execution of a proposed contract for grant to acquire land for Open -Space purposes." On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is Numbered 2923. Carried. A letter of protest from the owners on the East side of the alley to be paved under Resolution Number 2921, passed on February 13, 1967. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the letter was referred to the City Manager for a report. Petition Number 2936 was filed by Joe Regan, for a street light on Johnstown Avenue, between Front and Oakdale. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner j Casebeer, the petition was referred to the City Manager to be checked. The Mayor announced that the City Commission had decided on the name of "LAKEWOOD PARK"+ for the property purchased from Mrs. Jarvis. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (bills and investments) On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1369. Carried. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, the Board of Commissioners adjourned. H. E. Peterson, City Clerk
