Meeting was called to order by Mayor Waddell, the roll was called and Commissioners Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 23, 1967 were read and approved. Bids were received on Engineering Job 463. (Improvements in Urban Renewal Project #1 Ash to Elm, and 7th to 9th) Brown and Brown, Inc. $30,069.50 Wilmoth Construction, Inc. 31,522.15 Engineer's Estimate 35,328.90 On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the bid was awarded to Brown and Brown, Inc., and the Contract Ordinance was introduced for first reading. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6952. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading January 23, 1967. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE prohibiting the sale of Alcoholic Beverages to Minors." On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6953. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading January 23, 1967. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE defining the requirements for gas tubing connectors; amending Section 9-307 (2) of The Salina Code and repealing said original section." On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6954. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading January 23, 1967. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE approving a Resolution of the Board of Directors of Salina Airport Authority, Saline County, Kansas, authorizing the issuance of $790,000.00 General Obligation Bonds of said Authority." On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was adopted by Sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6955. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading January 23, 1967. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the ordinance swas adopted by Sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6956. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading January 16, 1967. Petition Number 2933 was filed by Arthur W. Hjort for the Kenwoodview Nursing Home, for a street light at the corner of Ohio and Elmhurst Boulevard. On a motion by Commissione Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the petition was referred to the City Manager to be checked. Cereal Malt Beverage application was filed by Sarah Jane Wilson, for The Orange Bowl Cafe, 437 North Third. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the application was approved. i 1 1 1 1 1 1 Applications for Trimming and Treating of Trees and Shrubs were received from: M. R. Welsh 609 West Elm - Trimming License Cecil Heart - 128 Baker - Trimming License Harvey L. Eslinger - 1842 Highland - Trimming License Darrell J. Prater - R. R. 3 - Trimming and Treating License Cloyd E. Prater - Twin Valley Nursery - 450 North Ohio - Trimming and Treating License On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the applications were approved. City Engineer filed Final Estimate - Job 470 - Brown and Brown, Inc. - in the amount of $331.36. On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed Final Estimate - Job 460-A Brown and Brown, Inc. - in the amount of $16,111.13. On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Estimate was approved. Carried. On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, a Resolution was introduced f i-^4-_- approving the Investment of Idle Funds. Resolution Number: 4 � � � % Number: U 1 On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the City Manage is to present a City Flag to Salina Optimist Drum and Bugle Corps. I Parties appeared regarding the use of Kenwood Park for a place to use horses. i On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the City Attorney and the County Attorney work out an agreement with the County Commissioners, j giving consideration to Salina Recreation on Baseball Diamonds. Commissioner Casebeer suggested giving consideration to the use of lower Indian Rock Park for Baseball Activities Mayor reappointed Lester Ruegsegger to Band Trustees for a three year term, to January 1, 1970, with the approval of the Commission. i An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (bills) On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5).
