01-23-1967 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - Regular Meeting COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas January 23, 1967 r Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 23, 1967. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Waddell, the roll was called and Commissioners Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 16, 1967 were read and approved. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas." On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6949. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading January 9, 1967. The City Manager reported on Petition Number 2905, for the paving of the alley first east of Chicago Street, from South Street to Spruce Street, and recommended the petition be approved. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the recommendation was accepted and the petition was approved. The City Manager reported on Petition Number 2911, for the drainage and resurfacing of the ten hundred block on North Fifth Street, and recommended the street should be checked for maintenance. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the recommendation was accepted and the petition was approved. The City Manager reported on Petition Number 2928, for the paving of Hamilton Avenue from Fourth Street to Santa Fe Avenue, and recommended the petition be approved. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the recommendation was accepted and the petition was approved. The City Manager reported on Petition Number 2929, for installation of curb, gutter, paving, sewer, water and sidewalks in Country Club Addition # 4, and recommended the petition be approved. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the recommendation was accepted and the petition was approved. The City Manager reported on Petition Number 2931, for the construction of Curb sidewalk on the West side of Marymount Road from Ruskin Road to Glenn, and recommended the petition be approved. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline the recommendation was accepted and the petition was approved. An Affidavit was filed by Donald Tucker for Bus Gasoline Tax Refund, from October 1, 196 to January 1, 1967. (39596.1 gallons @.05 = $179.81) On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the refund was approved. I City Engineer filed Final Estimate on Asphalt Job 465 - Brown and Brown, Inc. - in the amount of $3,759.67. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the Estimate was approved. City Engineer filed Final Estimate on Water Main Job 471 - Brown and Brown, Inc. - in the amount of $2,132.05. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the Estimate was approved. City Engineer filed Final Estimate on Sidewalk Job 474 - 0. M. Wilbur - in the amount of $1,013.09. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the Estimate was approved. Petition Number 2932 was filed by M. L. Michaelsen, for the establishment of a sanitary sewer district in Block 3, Schippel Addition. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the petition was referred to the City Manager to be checked. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, an ordinance was introduced for first reading to repeal Section 9-289 of The Salina Code. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (payroll) On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (S).
