01-09-1967 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS' ROOM Salina, Kansas January 9, 1967 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 9, 1967. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Waddell, the roll was called and Commissioners Waddell, Rundquist, Stark, City Attorney Bengtson, and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioners Casebeer and Exline absent. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 19, 1966, were read and approved. Hearing on property at Lot 32, Block 23, E. M. I., extended from November 28, 1966, was held. City Manager reported that the property now meets requirements. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the hearing was terminated. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled : "AN ORDINANCE providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddel Rundquist, Stark (3). Nays: (0). Commissioners Casebeer and Exline absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6948. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading on December 19, 1966. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was held over one week to January 16th. Petition Number 2929 was filed for the installation of curbing, guttering and paving, sewer and water service in Country Club Number 4. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the petition was referred back to the petitioner to include sidewalks. Petition Number 2930 was filed by Webb Johnson Electric, for the rezoning of Lots 185 and 187, Fifth Street, in the Original Townsite, from Zone "C" to Zone "D" (335 & 337 S. 5th) On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. 1 1 A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION approving the modificatic of that certain agreement entered into between the City of Salina, Kansas, and United States Government, Dated July 1, 1966, relating to Fire Protection for the Schilling Manor Sub -Post. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the Resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Rundquist, Stark (3). Nays: (0). Commissioners Casebeer and Exline absent. Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2917. Carried. City Engineer filed Partial Estimate Number 14 - Job 453 - 0. D. Wilmoth Excavating Co. in the amount of $12,175.53. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark the estimate was approved. Petition was filed by Ernest A. Lewis, Jr. for Beer at 1409 West Crawford, and waiver of 200 ft. Zone. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the petition was referred to the City Manager. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (Bills) On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Rundquist, Stark (3).
