Meeting was called to order by Mayor Waddell, the roll was called and Commissioners Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. i i ! The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 28, 1966, were read and approved. a Bids were received on a 2 ton Pickup for the Water and Sewerage Department. On motion Of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the bid was awarded to Jim Sullivan Chevrolet, for $1,566.19. Carried. i An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE prescribing the 1 corporate limits of said City, including land described in Ordinance Number 6928, and repealing Section 1 of Ordinance Number 6834." On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6945. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading November 28, 1966. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the City is to e exercise its option to purchase the Jarvis Lake Property. Approved. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, an ordinance was introduced for first reading establishing a Cultural Arts Commission for Salina. /' Ordinance Passed: /L4-�-1 Gt t l �✓ Number: l� 7 q i On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, an ordinance was introduced for first reading repealing Ordinance Number 6762, which provided longevity -gay for full time city employees. / Ordinance Passed: �,�, C� l b 7 Number: ( j� On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, a Charter ordinance was introduced for first reading exempting the City from provisions of K. S. A. 13-791, which provided longevity pay for Fire Department employees. 1 w Ordinance Passed: �_ 1 (4 Number:" A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION adopting the Classified Service Schedule for City Employees, created pursuant to Salina Code Section 2-61." On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the Resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2915. Carried. A letter was received from the Salina City Planning Commission, recommending the approval of Petition Number 2910, filed by Larry S. Gutsch, for the platting of Lots 1 througi 16, Block 1 and Lots 1 through 6,,Block 3, Country Club Heights Addition Number 4. On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the recommendation was accepted and the petition was approved. A letter was received from the Salina City Planning Commission, recommending the rezoning, requested in Petition Number 2799, of parts of Blocks 3, 4, 5, and 6, in the Replay', of Schippel Addition. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the recommendation was accepted and the rezoning was approved; and an ordinance for the rezoning was introduced for first reading. Ordinance Passed: Number: City Engineer filed Estimate Number 13 - Job 453 - 0. D. Wilmoth - in the amount of $7,415.85. On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the estimate was approved. City Engineer filed Estimate Number 2 - Job 470 for Streets - Brown and Brown, Inc. in the amount of $13,663.31. On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the estimate was approved. City Engineer filed Estimate Number 2 - Job 471 for Water Main - Brown and Brown, Inc. -j in the amount of $8,861.44. On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the estimate was approved. 1 J 1 i A R Petition Number 2925, filed by Prudential Savings Association for the Rezoning of Lot 2 and the north 40 feet of Lot 4, on Santa Fe Avenue, in Prescott Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas to District "DD". On a motion by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. City Engineer filed Final Estimate on Job 458 - Water and Sewer Main - 0. D. Wilmoth - in the amount of $651.41. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the estimate was approved. Carried. Petition Number 2926, filed by Lee 0. Haworth for sewer line extension to manhole number 22, as shown on the plans of Bonnie Ridge, and approved by the State Board of Health. On a motion by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the petition was approved. Carried. On a motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, Agreement for ambulance service between Saline County and the City was approved, and the Mayor was authorized to sign the agreement. Carried. On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the Salina City Code Book is to sell for $25.00; Binders for $7.50;and Yearly Supplement Service $5.00. Approved. Mayor reappointed R. M. Stark to Community Chest Board. A party appeared regarding number of dogs allowed in the City. The City Commission asked the City Manager and the City Attorney to make further research on this subject. The Mayor filed his report on the Congress of Cities meeting at Las Vegas, Nevada, from December 3rd to the 7th. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (payroll) On a motion by Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5).
