09-19-1966 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS' ROOM Salina, Kansas September 19, 1966 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners September 19, 1966. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Waddell, the roll was called and Commissioners Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 12, 1966 were read and approved. Bids were received on Job 470 (Paving Ellsworth from Santa Fe to Fourth; curb, gutter pave Hamilton from Third to Fourth; pave Montrose Street from South to Morrison) Brown and Brown, Inc. $17,752.50 Hunter Construction Company Hays, Kansas $21,805.50 Walters Construction Company Manhattan, Kansas $21,783.50 Engineer's Estimate $18,242.50 On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the bid was awarded to Brown and Brown, Inc. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the Contract 0 for Job 470 was introduced for first reading. Carried. Ordinance Passed: � � 6, Number: An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for the vacation of a certain easement located in Block 11 in the Replat of Garden Homes Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had:. Ayes: Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (4). Nays: (0). Mayor obstained from voting. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6937. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading September 12, 1966. A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION approving the detailed estimate of the costs of all participants involved in The Salina Interlocal Agreement made under oath by Wilson -Shaver, Architects and Engineers, all preliminary to the issuance and sale of bonds of said City as heretofore duly authorized by the Qualified Electors of said City." On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the Resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2900. Carried. Mayor proclaimed Drum and Bugle Corps Day, September 25th, 1966. Mayor proclaimed Fire Prevention Week, October 9th through October 15th, 1966. Cereal Malt Beverage application was filed by Afro-American Order of Quails, 308 East North Street. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the application was approved. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (bills) On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1345. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (payroll) On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5).
