COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS' ROOM
Salina, Kansas
July 18, 1966
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 18, 1966. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Waddell, the roll was called and Commissioners Waddell, Casebeer, Exline,
Rundquist, Stark, City Manager Olson responded. City Attorney Bengtson absent.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 11, 1966 were read and approved.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE prohibiting
the solicitation or sale of any merchandise upon the public streets, sidewalks, and alleys
within the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the ordinance was
tabled for 2 weeks. Carried.
The proposed Budget for 1967 was presented by the City Manager. On motion of Commissioner
Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the Budget was given tentative approval and the City
Clerk was instructed to publish the budget as required by law.
A Traffic Safety Award was presented by a representative of the State Highway Commission;
Third Place Award - No Death Award for 1965.
The City Manager made a report concerning a fire at 432 North Second Street on July 9,
1966. On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the report
was accepted and filed. Carried.
Plans and Specifications for Kitchen Equipment, Furniture and fixtures for the Hilton
Inn were filed. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer
the Plans and Specifications were accepted and approved and filed with the City Clerk.
Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the City
Attorney is to draw up an ordinance on new salary schedule for January 1, 1967. Carried.
An Concrete Construction Bond was filed by Munson and Lloyd, Inc. On motion of
Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the bond was approved. Carried.
Cereal Malt Beverage license application was filed by Virgil Rieke for 812 North
Broadway. "Virg's". On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist,
the application was approved. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (bills)
On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell,
Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it
is numbered A-1337. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (Payroll)

On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell,
Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered A-1338. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
