06-13-1966 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS' ROOM Salina, Kansas June 13, 1966 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 13, 1966. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Waddell, the roll was called and Commissioners Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Stark, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioner Rundquist absent. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 6, 1966 were read and approved. Bids were received for Diesel Fuel for the Refuse Department and Street Department for 1 year supply. The bids were opened and tabulated by the City Clerk. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the bid was awarded to Fisk Oil Company as low bidder in the amount of 100, a gallon. ( One year period from June 13, 1966 to June 12, 1967.) Carried. On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Stark, an ordinance was introduced for first reading adopting the 1965 Edition of the National Electrical Code. Carried. Ordinance Passed: Number: On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Stark, an ordinance was introduced for first reading adopting the 1965 Edition of the Standard Fire Prevention Code. Carried. Ordinance Passed: `'t^e- �( Number: A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION determining that it is expedient that the City of Salina, Kansas, acquire certain land for park purposes and to issue General Obligation Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in payment thereof." On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the resolution was adopted as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell, Casebeer, Exline, Stark (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Rundquist absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2880. Carried. An application from W. H. Young, Postmaster, to remove part of the curb and make one 52 foot driveway on Eighth Street. On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner' Casebeer, the application was approved. Carried. Cemetery Trust Deed was received from Elizabeth Coughenour for the perpetual care of Sz Lot 25, Block 17. ($150.00) On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the Trust Deed was approved. Carried. A letter was received asking for an alley entrance to parking Lot in 200 block of South Seventh Street. On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the letter was referred to the City Manager for a recommendation. Carried. A motion was made by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, to approve "Declaration of Policy" and recertification of workable program. Carried. Mayor made the following appointment with the approval of the City Commissioners: Al Dodge to Salina Recreation Commission for 4 year term to June 9, 1970. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." (bills) On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddellp Casebeer, Exline, Stark (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Rundquist absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1332. Carried. E On motion of Commissioner Exline, the Board of Commissioners adjourned. 3 H. E.
