Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 18, 1966. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Stark, the roll was called and Commissioners Stark, Casebeer, Exline, Rundqui�t,
Waddell, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 11, 1966 were read and approved.
A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION directing and ordering
a public hearing on the advisability of street, sewer and water main improvements in certain
districts and giving notice of such hearing." (Hearing to be held May 2, 1966)
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the resolution
was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Stark, Casebeer, Exline,
Rundquist, Waddell (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2873.
Carried.
ORGANIZATION MEETING
The Board of Commissioners convened for the purpose of organizing. H. E. Peterson,
City Clerk, presiding. The roll was called and Commissioners Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist,
Stark, Waddell, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded.
Nominations open for Mayor and Chairman of City Commission. Commissioner Waddell was
nominated for Mayor by Commissioner Stark.
i Motion was made by Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Exline, that
nominations be closed and Commissioner Waddell be declared elected Mayor. Carried.
Nominations open for Acting Mayor and Vice -Chairman of City Commission. Commissioner
Casebeer was nominated for Acting Mayor by Commissioner Rundquist.
Motion was made by Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Waddell that nominations{
be closed and Commissioner Casebeer be declared elected Acting Mayor. Carried.

The City Clerk turned the gavel over to Mayor Waddell.
Petition Number 2885 was filed by Jack Fleming for street lights at the Flemco
Mobile Homes Court. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark,
the petition was referred to the City Manager to be checked. Carried.
Petition Number 2886 was filed for the approval of sub -division plat of a part of
Blocks 7 and 8, in Meadowlark Acres. On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner
Rundquist, the petition was referred to the Salina City Planning Commission. Carried.
Plumbers and Gas Fitters Bond for Kendall Plumbing, Inc. was filed. On motion of
Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the bond was approved. Carried.
City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications on Street Job 460. On motion of
Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, the Plans and Specifications were
accepted and approved. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the City Clerk was
instructed to advertise for bids on Engineering Jobs 460 and 461, to be received on
April 25, 1966. Carried.
A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A RESOLUTION authorizing acceptance
from the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, Federal Water Pollution Control
Administration, the United States of America, of a grant under the Mater Pollution Control
Act. (33 U.S.C. 446 et seq.)"
On motion
of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark,
the resolution
was accepted as

City Manager reported on Petition Number 2880 for street lights at Grace E. Stewart —"
School. City Manager recommended the street lights be installed. On motion of Commissioner
Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the recommendation of the City Manager was
accepted and the street lights were approved. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (bills)
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Stark, the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had:. Ayes: Waddell
Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark. Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered A-1324. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (payroll)
On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Waddell,
Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Stark. Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered A-1325. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Stark, the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
