COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM

January 10, 1966
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 10, 1966. Meeting was called to
order by Acting Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Casebeer,
Rundquist, Waddell, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. Mayor Stark
absent.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 3, 1966 were read and approved.

Bids were received on a Snow Blower.

On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the bids were referred
to the City Manager for checking and a report on January 17, 1966. Carried.
City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications on Job 458, as required by Resolution
Number 2857, for water and sewer (Westinghouse). On motion of Commissioner Casebeer,
seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the Plans and Specifications were accepted and approved,
and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be received January 31, 1966.
Carried.
A letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding petition number 2852
filed by Ray Laughlin for approval of a plat of Laughlin Park Sub -division. On motion of
Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer action was deferred until next
meeting.(January 17, 1966) Carried.
A Report was received from the City Manager relating to State Highway Department
traffic study on North Broadway. On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner
Rundquist, the study was accepted and approved. Carried.
A Report was received from the City Manager regarding Petition Number 2870 requesting
the vacation of Chicago Street from South Street to Spruce Street. City Manager recommended
that the street not be vacated. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissione
Casebeer the recommendation was accepted and the petition was denied. Carried.
Petition Number 2872 was filed by V. C. Webb against the rezoning to "G",Heavy Industrial
the property at 225 East Diamond Drive requested in petition Number 2868. On motion of
Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the petition was referred to
the City Planning Commission. Carried.
Petition Number 2873 was filed by Gutsch Agency for the closing of an alley between
Lots 6 and 7, running from North Street south to the river in Surveyor's Plat "G". On
motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the petition was referred
to the City Manager. Carried.
Gas fitters bond was filed by Vernon L. Decker, Galva, Ks. On motion of Commissioner
Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the bond was approved. Carried. j
Electricians bond was filed for Merriman and Hoeffner Electric, Inc. On motion of
Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the bond was approved. Carried.
Petition Number 2874 was filed by Andrew Collins for improvement of drainage conditions
at Pershing and Kirwin. On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner
Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Manager. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (Bills)
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Waddell, the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes:
Exline, Casebeer, Rundquist, Waddell. (4). Nays: (0). Mayor Stark absent. Acting Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1309. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ORDINANCE making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (Bills)
On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes:
Exline, Casebeer, Rundquist, Waddell. (4). Nays: (0). Mayor Stark absent. Acting Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1310. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 17, 1966. Meeting was called to
order by Acting Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Casebeer,
City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioners Stark, Exline, Waddel,
absent.

Bids were received on Job 462, Greeley Avenue Bridge, and opened.
