Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 22, 1965. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Stark, the roll was called and Commissioners Stark, Casebeer, Exline,
Rundquist, Waddell, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 15, 1965 were read and approved.
The City Commissioners discussed the sale of Fireworks in 1966. On motion of Commissioner
Exline, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the City Manager and the City Attorney were
instructed to draw up an ordinance banning the sale and firing of fireworks, except properly
supervised public displays. Carried.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for th�
amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby
adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing
the proper uses thereof."

On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Waddell the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Stark, Casebeer,
Exline, Rundquist, Waddell. (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is
numbered 6892. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading 11/8/1965.
A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution designating the officia�
depositories for all moneys of the City of Salina, Kansas, and directing the City Treasurer
to deposit all moneys received by him therein."
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Waddell the resolution
was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Stark, Casebeer, Exline,
Rundquist, Waddell. (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2852.;
Carried.
A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the
City of Salina, Kansas, has by Resolution Number 2848 found it necessary and advisable for
the City of Salina, Kansas, to issue no -fund -warrants to provide necessary funds for bond
and interest payments due in December of 1965, and ..."
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the resolution was
approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Stark, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist,'.
Waddell (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the Resolution and it is numbered 2853. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Exline an ordinance was
introduced for first reading for the Investment of Idle Funds. Carried.
Ordinance Passed: �Zz'�.J Z 6�_�C%,� Number: S 7
Petition Number 2866 was filed by Bob Hansmann, Mgr. of the Ramada Inn for a street
light East of Diamond Drive. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner
Exline the petition was referred to the City Manager to be checked. Carried.
Orville Boyle of Royal Tire Company appeared regarding a sign on the building wall
next to the parking lot on Fifth Street. On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by
Commissioner Rundquist a 5 year lease was authorized at $100.00 and the City Manager to
have the legal papers prepared. Carried.
National Bank of America representatives appeared regarding the installation of planter
in the sidewalk north of the building on Iron Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Waddell,
seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the matter was referred to the City Attorney to write
an Ordinance amending present ordinance regarding this type of installation. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (payroll)
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Waddell the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Stark,
Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Waddell (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it
is numbered A-1301. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
