Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 4, 1965. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Stark, the roll was called and Commissioners Stark, Casebeer, Rundquist,
Waddell, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioner Exline absen
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 20, 1965 were read and approved.
Mayor presented League of Municipalities Pins to City Employees.
Bids were received on Sewer Job 459. Lateral Sanitary Sewer 501.
Brown and Brown, Inc. ---------------------- $4,384.50
Engineer's Estimate ------------------------ 5,707.35
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Waddell the bid was award
to Brown and Brown, Inc. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Waddell the Contract
Ordinance was introduced for

Mayor appointed Robert Frederick, N. C. Grant, and Warren Garrett as appraisers for
Lateral Sanitary Sewer 501, Job 459. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by
Commissioner Waddell the appointments were approved. Carried.
Notice of Hearing on the proposed assessments was taken up for the improvements in Job
431. Faith Addition.
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading with concrete, Moundview Avenue, McAdams Road,
Edgedale Drive, Water Main and Sanitary Sewer to serve Blocks 3 and 7, Replat of Faith Add.
There being no protests or changes in the proposed assessments as filed, Commissioner
Waddell made motion, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer, that they be approved. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the assessment
ordinance was introduced for first reading. Carried.

Hearing on Resolution Number 2840 for the Westport Exchange Addition Improvements
was held. No protests, written or oral, were filed. On motion of Commissioner Waddell,
seconded by Commissioner Rundquist, the Resolution was accepted and the hearing was adjou
Carried.
The City Clerk reported that the assessment rolls for the following improvement, to -wit:
1. The curbing, guttering, and concrete paving of:
(a) Brookwood Lane from the east line of Beechwood Road
East to the City Limits
(b) Crestwood Road from the north line of Brookwood Lane
to the south line of Northwood Lane.
(c) Driftwood Road from the north line of Brookwood Lane
to the south line of Northwood Lane.
2. Water Mains to be installed in the above described streets.
3. 4' Curb sidewalks abutting all above described streets.
4. A Sanitary Sewer to serve Blocks 13 and 14, Riker Manor Addition.
as authorized by Resolution Number 2799 passed by the Board of Commissioners on October 19,
1964 has been determined and that the final costs have been filed by the City Engineer.

Commissioner Rundquist made motion that the City Clerk
be directed
to publish notice
in the official paper at least once, not less than 10 days
prior to the
date of October 18,
1965, the date set for the hearing on said assessments, and
that at the
same time notice is
published, to mail to the owners of property made liable to
pay the assessments,
at their
last known post office address, a notice of the hearing and a statement of the cost proposed
to be assessed against the land so owned and assessed. Motion carried.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution fixing the mileage
allowance at 90 per mile for all persons using their private motor vehicles on City business.'
On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the resolution was
approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Stark, Casebeer, Rundquist, Waddell
(4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is
numbered 2842. Carried.
Petition Number 2855 was filed by C. H. Kenison for rezoning from "F" to "G" Lot 6,
Surveyor's Plat "G", and Lot 7, Surveyor's Plat "G". On motion of Commissioner Rundquist,
seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission.
Carried.
Petition Number 2856 was filed by Lee Isaacson for sidewalk from Ash Street, south on
Front Street for 120 feet. On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner
f Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Manager to be checked. Carried.
Petition Number 2857 was filed by Parkview Realty and Building Company for the rezoning
of property in Smoky Hill Addition to "C" and "DD". On motion of Commissioner Casebeer,
seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission.
Carried.
Petition Number 2858 was filed by Parkview Realty and Building Company for the approval
of a Plat of Smoky Hill Addition. On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commi sionlor
Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer a special Warranty
Deed on fifty foot piece of land in Lot 2, Surveyor's Plat 34 to Grover M. Simpson for
$300.00 was approved and the Mayor signed. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer a Special
Warranty Deed on Lot 8, Block 5; and Lot 8, Block 6, in Walnut Grove Addition to Joe D. Hensley
for $800.00 was approved and the Mayor signed. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (bills)
On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Stark,
Casebeer, Rundquist, Waddell. (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered A-1294. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "AN ordinance making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims." (payroll)
