Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stark, the roll was called and Commissioners Stark, Casebeer, Rundquist, Waddell, City Attorney Bengtson, and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioner Exline absent. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 2, 1965 were read and approved. A hearing was held on the Budget for 1966. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the budget was approved as published. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer an ordinance was introduced for first reading for 1965 Tax Levy for 1966 Budget. Carried. Q An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE providing for the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Diamond Drive with concrete (Thirty-three (33) feet wide from back of curb to back of curb) from the east line of U. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE naming a street and describing its location within the City Limits of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Stark Casebeer, Rundquist, Waddell (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6867. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading August 2, 1965. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE creating and defining a certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer District in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 501, and providing for the constructiol of a Lateral Sanitary Sewer in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 501, so created and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof. 1 II 1 F� On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Stark, Casebeer, Rundquist, Waddell (4). An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: " I S AN ORDINANCE requiring all .Class B Clubs within the City of Salina, to obtain a license from said City and determining the amount of the license fee." On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: 11 Stark, Casebeer, Rundquist, Waddell (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6871. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading August 2, 1965. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ORDINANCE levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of cutting weeds on certain lots and parts of lots and the parkways abutting thereon in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Stark, Casebeer, Rundquist, Waddell (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6872. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading August 2, 1965. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer an ordinance was introduced for first reading for the amending of Section 16-508 of the 1960 Code of the City of Salina, Kansas. Ordinance Passed: Number: j - A letter was received from the City Planning Commission asking for a change in Section 15 of Zoning Ordinance 6613, Special Classes, be amended to include Class A and Class B private clubs as defined by State Law. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by j Commissioner Casebeer the recommendation was approved and the City Clerk was instructed to j publish Notice of Hearing. Carried. E Petition Number 2847 was filed by W. S. Wakefield and Virginia D. Grosser for the f concrete pavement of the Alley First East of Santa Fe Avenue from Crawford Avenue to Bond Stf On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the petition was referred to the City Manager for checking. Carried. 3 Petition Number 2848 was filed against the rezoning of additional developments in i relation to the central business district. On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist a contract was approved with Bucher and Willis on Urban Renewal Project Number 2 for $1,000.00. Carried. A motion was made by Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer approving the cutting of an opening in the median strip on South Santa Fe Avenue approximately in line; with the north boundary line of Safeway property and south boundary line of Asbury Hospital j property for use of the Goodyear Store to go in on the East side of Santa Fe; also approving, no parking on the East side of Santa Fe.
