COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING

August 2, 1965
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 2, 1965. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Stark, the roll was called and Commissiones Stark, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist
Waddell, City Attorney Bengtson and City Manager Olson responded.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 19, 1965 were read and approved.
I On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Waddell an ordinance was
introduced for first reading for the curbing, guttering and paving of certain streets.

On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Waddell an ordinance was
introduced for first reading describing the location of Diamond Drive, west of US Highway 81
` to the City Limits. Carried.

On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist an ordinance was
introduced for first reading describing Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 501 to serve Lots 14,
15, 16, 19 and the East 1655 feet of Lot 20, Surveyor's Plat 8. Carried.}

On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer an ordinance was
tintroduced for first reading for the construction of sidewalks for Lots 2, 3, 4, in Block 4
South Field Addition, west side of Roach. Lots 14, 15, 16, 17, Block 1, Pershing Heights
and Lots 13, 14, 15, Block 2, Replat of Blocks 1 and 2 Evergreen Park,all on the north side
of Cloud Street. Carried.

On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist an ordinance was
introduced for first reading for the mowing of weeds from August 1, 1964 to August 1, 1965.
Carried.

Use of City Owned property on Center Street for parking was brought up,
(held over from
the July 19th meeting). On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Waddell
the lot will not be improved at this time. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Exline an ordinance was
1 introduced for first reading for the licensing of Private Clubs. Carried.

On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist an ordinance was
I introduced for the vacation of the North 1 foot of utility easement in Faith Addition.

Petition Number 2845 was filed by George R. Langshaw for the denial of the rezoning
of'property at 626 West Walnut and 158 South 11th to "DD". On motion of Commissioner
Exline, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Planning
Commission. Carried.
Petition Number 2846 was filed by E. Michael Harding for the rezoning of property in
Beebe's Addition and Holland Addition to "DD". On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded
Eby Commissioner Casebeer the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried.
Plumbers and Gas Fitters Bond was received from Dan J. Bachofer. On motion of Commissioner
Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the bond was approved. Carried j
Electricians Bond was received from F. E. Bourbina. On motion of Commissioner Exline,
seconded by Commissioner Waddell the bond was approved. Carried.
An application was received from J. Erland Lockstrom for recessed parking at 212 South
Fifth Street. On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the
application was approved. Carried.
City Engineer filed partial Estimate Number 1 - Job 454 - Construction Industries -
in the amount of $1,156.50. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner
Casebeer the estimate was approved. Carried.

An application for the renewal of Merchant Police License was received from Paul J.
Gestl , 1519 Sycamore. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Waddell
the application was approved. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Waddell the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following g vote was had: Ayes: Stark,
Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Waddell (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it
is numbered A-1287. Carried.
