06-21-1965 MinutesI- �rr-+ 6 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas June 21, 1965 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 21, 1965. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Stark, the roll was called and Commissioners Stark, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Waddell, City Attorney Bengtson, and City Manager Olson responded. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 14, 1965 were read and approved. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance naming various streets and describing their location within the City Limits of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Stark, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Waddell (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6859. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading June 14,196 An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance prohibiting the obstruction of visibility at street intersections; providing the procedure for the removal of such obstructions and the method of assessing the cost thereof to the property.' On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Stark, Casebeer, Exline, Rundquist, Waddell (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6860 Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading June 14,1965. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer an ordinance was introduced for first reading amending Chapter 16-205, Bowling Alleys licenses to $10.00 per year, per alley. City Manager recommended the light be installed. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Exline the street light was approved for installation. Carried. A report was received from the City Manager on Petition 2836 for the vacation of 21 feet of Lots 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, in Block 10, Calkins Addition for a truck scale. City Manager recommended easements of the property described with the City to retain easement rights for drainage and other utilities. On motion of•Commissione Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the petition was approved and the City Attorney instructed to draw up anCe "i adjacent to Lots 37, 38, 39, 40. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Waddell that an ordinance be written to construct a sanitary sewer to properties located between Iron Avenue and Gypsum Avenue and between Iowa and Wisconsin. The need determined by Salina -Saline Co. Health Department. Carried. A motion was made by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer to approve "Rules of Procedure" for Saline County -City Building Authority and authorize the Mayor to sign. Carried. Petition Number 2838 for a street light between Pontiac and Osage Avenue on Arapahoe was filed by Dorothy Froman. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Manager to be checked. Carried. Petition Number 2837 for a street light at 217 North Second was filed. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition was referred to the City Manager to be checked.
