Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Casebeer, Rundquist$ and Waddell, City Attorney Bengtson, and City Manager Olson responded. Commissioners Stark and Exline absent. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 24, 1965 were read and approved. Bids were received on Truck for the Cemetery Department. Sid Bacon Motor Company $2,384.05 Long McArthur, Inc. $2,388.00 Harmon & Gregg Co., Inc. $2,672.50 On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the bid was awarded to Sid Bacon Motor Company as low bidder in the amount of $2,384.05, subject to meeting specifications. Carried. F On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Waddell an ordinance was introduced for 1st reading definining the procedure for abatement of any nuisance and amending Section 13-304 of The Code of the City of Salina, Kansas, 1960. Carried. Ordinance Passed: _1 -1 Number: An application was received from Kansas Landscape and Nursery Company, 1416 East Irony for a license to trim trees and shrubs. On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the application was approved. Carried. An application was received from Harvey L. Eslinger, 1842 Highland, for a license to trim trees and shrubs. On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the application was approved. Carried. An application for the renewal of Merchant Police License was received from Clarence M. Smith, 1120 North Fourth Street. On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded: by Commissioner Waddell the application was approved. Carried. Petition Number 2833 was filed by R. W. Steele and Mary Lou Steele for the rezoning of Lot 2 and the north 40 feet of Lot 4, on Santa Fe Avenue, Prescott Addition from District "C" to District "D" (600 South Santa Fe Avenue) On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Petition Number 2834 was filed by St. Francis Boys Home Inc. for the rezoning of the East 672 feet of Lot 1 and the East 672 feet of the North half of Lot 3 on Highland Avenue, Prescott Addition from District "C" to District "D". On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. A letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding the change in Zoning Ordinance to remove from District "G", Junk Yards, and place them under Special Classes. On motion of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Waddell the letter was referred to the City Attorney. Carried. Petition Number 2835 was filed by James Lacy for a street light on the South intersection of the access road to Indian Rock Park on Indiana Street. On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the petition was referred to the City Manager to be checked. Carried. Petition Number 2836 was filed by Supersweet Feeds for a truck scale on 21 feet east part of Lots 35, 36, 37, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, in Block 10 Calkins Addition. On motion', of Commissioner Casebeer, seconded by Commissioner Waddell the petition was referred to th,b City Manager to be checked. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." — On motion of Commissioner Waddell, seconded by Commissioner Casebeer the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Casebeer, Waddell (3). Nays: (0). Commissioners Stark and Exline absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1279. Carried.
