02-08-1965 MinutesC! 6k�1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas February 8, 1965 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 8, 1965. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Bull, Exline, Spangler, Stark and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 1, 1965 were read and approved. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with Construction Industries, Inc. for the construction of certain improvements in the City of Salina, Kansas and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Runquist; Bull, Exline, Spangler, Stark. (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6847. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading February 1, 1965. A letter was received from the City Planning Commission recommending that Lot 11, Bloc 4, Southern Heights Addition be rezoned from District "A" to District "D", and Lot 8, Block , Southern Heights Addition be rezoned from District "D" to District "A". On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the recommendation was accepted and the City Clerk was instructed to publish Notice of Hearing. Carried. A letter was received from the City Planning Commission recommending the rezoning of Lots 11, 12, 13, 17, Block 1, Beebe's Second Addition requested in petition Number 2815 filed by Maurice R. Connolly, M.D. from District "C" to District "DD". On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Stark the recommendation was accepted and the City Clerk was instructed to publish Notice of Hearing. Carried. A letter was received from the City Planning Commission recommending the approval of the Replat of Blocks 4, 5, and part of 3, Schippel Addition. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the Replat of Schippel Addition was approved and authorized the Mayor to sign. A letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding Petition Number 2799 filed by M. L. Michaelsen, for the rezoning of -the following in Replat of Schippel Addition:', 1. Lots 9 to 14 inclusive in Block 3, to Zone "B". 2. Lots 4, 9, 10, in Block 4, to Zone "B". 3. Lots 5, 6, 7, 8, in Block 4, to Zone "C". 6. Lots 1 to 9, Block 6 to Zone "C" 4. Lots 11, 12, 13, 14, Block 4, to Zone "D". 7. Lots 10 to 16, Block 6, to Zone "D"! 5. Lots 10 to 18, Block 5, to Zone "B" On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the recommendation of the City Planning Commission to approve the rezoning was accepted and the rezoning was approved and the City Clerk was instructed to Publish Notice of Hearing after the Replat of Schippel Addition is filed with the Register of Deeds. Carried. i City Engineer filed Estimate Number 1 - Job 431 - Faith Addition - Brown and Brown, Incl. in the amount of $14,022.40. On motion Of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Stark the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed Estimate Number 1 - Job 451 - Water Main - Catherman Construction in the amount of $24,239.09. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed Estimate Number 1 - Job 447 - Riker Manor Addition improvements - Brown and Brown, Inc., in the amount of $5,837.26. On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the estimate was approved. Carried. I Electrical Contractor's Bond was received from Glenn Merriman and Robert F. Hoeffner. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the Bond was approved. Carrie On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the Lease Agreement i with Arnold E. Tillberg was approved. Carried (Flood Control Land near Elks Country Club) Tree Trimming application was filed by Cecil Hart for 1965.
