02-01-1965 Minutes1.38 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas February 1, 1965 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 1, 1965. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Bull, Exline Spangler, Stark and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 25, 1965 were read and approved. The Engineering Office reported on bids taken on Job 450, January 25, 1965. Tabulated as follows: S & W Contractors, Inc.,321 West Curtis, Topeka $212,711.50 9/1/1965 Construction Industries $188,774.87 7/30/1965 Brown and Brown, Inc. $198,690.80 8/31/1965 Puitzer and Dutton, Box 472, Norton, Kansas $222,407.50 7/1/1965 Engineer's Estimate $230,464.70 On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Stark the bid was awarde to Construction Industries as low bidder in the amount of $188,774.87. (tarried. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Stark a contract ordinance was introduced for first reading Carried. Ordinance Passed:- t— �' 6 1 Number: An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and there adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Bull, Exline, Spangler, Stark. (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6846. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading January 18, 1965. 'Tree Trimming application for 1965 was filed by M. R. Welsh for renewal. On motion o Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the application was approved. Carried. A communication was received from the Smoky Valley Chapter of Kansas Engineering Society. Filed. A communication was received from the Secretary of the Salina Council of Parent - Teachers Association relative to the creation of an advisory Safety Commission. Filed. A petition was filed asking the City Commissioners to take some action regarding drivers licenses under 16 years of age. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the petition was referred to the City Manager and City Attorney. Carried. A letter was received from the Salina Board of Realtors. Filed. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriati for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Bull, Exline, Spangler, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1258. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriat for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Bull, Exline, Spangler, Stark (5).
