COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM

January 18, 1965
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 18, 1965. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Bull, Spangler,
and Stark and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Exline absent.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 11, 1965 were read and approved.
Notice of hearing up on the rezoning to "F", Light Industrial, of property on Broadway
Boulevard requested by Robert B. Berkley. No protests written or oral were filed. On motio
of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler, an ordinance was introduced for firot
reading for the rezoning of the property. Carried.

Notice of hearing up on the rezoning to "D" Local business, of property in Block 1,
Replat of Beebe's Second addition requested by Vance Weeks. No protests written or oral
were filed. On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Bull, an ordinance
was introduced for first reading for the rezoning of the property. Carried.

On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler, an ordinance was
introduced for first reading to hold a special election to vote on bonds for City -County
Building, and Library. Carried. (� /

On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler, the applications were
approved. Carried.
Pool Hall applications were received from:
Brad B. Buell 717 Bishop ---Union Station Tavern
Ted Pierson 115 South Santa Fe ---Club Royal
Dale W. Jellison 150 North Santa Fe ---The Rex Smoker
Lawrence Gray 806 North Santa Fe ---North Santa Fe Recreation
Jim Reed Thomas 502 North Third ---Jim's Billiard Parlor
On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Bull, the applications were
approved. Carried.
Tree Trimming and Treating Applications were received from:
Cloyd E. Prater Twin Valley Nursery
Darrell J. Prater R.R.#3 Salina, Kansas
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Stark the applications were
approved. Carried.
Petition Number 2814 was filed by Mrs. Hazel Williams for a street light in alley
between 12th and 13th streets and increase light at corner of Bishop and 13th Street.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the petition was referred
to the City Manager for checking. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation
1 for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner BpAngler the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist,
j Bull, Spangler, Stark (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is numbered A-1257. Carried.
