10-26-1964 MinutesCOMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas j October 26, 1964 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 26, 1964. Meeting was called ! to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Bull, Exline Spangler, Stark and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 19th, 1964 were read and approved. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and ther adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Bull, Exline, Spangler, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6822. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading October 12, 1964. Petition Number 2796 was filed by Jack Beverly, Jr. for the vacation of the unused portion of Grand Boulevard in Chicago Addition. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seco by Commissioner Bull an ordinance was introduced for first reading for the vacation of the described street. Carried. Ordinance Passed: )'Zr- y / L6 71- !.?� Number: Y Petition Number 2797 was filed for sanitary sewer to serve Lots 95 to 108 Original Townsite, (Block between Second and Third Streets North of Iron Avenue and South of River) On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline, the petition was referred to the City Manager to be checked. Carried. Petition Number 2798 was filed by 0. K. Webster, that the width of paving on Barney Street between North and Lincoln Streets be set for at least 40 feet if and when it is paved. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline the petition was referred to the City Manager to be checked. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution repealing Resolutions Numbers 2786, 2788, 2789, relating to the installation of certain sanitary sewer and wate mains within the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commiss Stark the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Bull, Exline, Spangler, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2800. Carried. (For improvements on North Ninth Street from Euclid to Culver Road - due to highway department requiring the sewer to be relocated.) A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution directing the City Engineer to prepare a feasibility report relative to the advisability of the installation fof certain sanitary sewer and water mains within the City of Salina." (for improvements to serve area approx 400 feet each side of US 81 from Euclid north approx 12 miles to Culver Road.) On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Bull, Exline, Spangler, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the resolution and it is numbered 2801. Carried. A letter was received from the Airport Advisory Board recommending that the City Commission go ahead on plans and specifications and bids on Airport Maintenance Building. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the recommendation was accepted and approved. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids on one Police Car and one Truck for the Street Dept. The date set to receive the bids is November 9, 1964. Carried. Petition Number 2795 for street light at Marc and Pentwood was recommended by the City Manager. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline the recommendation was accepted and approved. Carried. Petition Number 2794 for street light at intersection of AT&SF RR Tracks and Ohio Street was recommended by the City Manager. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline the recommendation was accepted and approved. Carried. Petition Number 2777 for curb sidewalk in Blocks 1 and 2, Millview Addition was found to have 100% signers, and was recommended by the City Manager. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline the recommendation was accepted and the sidewalk approved. Carried. 1 1 1 [ - I 1 1019 Petition Number 2799 was filed by Michaelsen, Inc. for rezoning in Schippel Addition. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Exline the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. An application for Merchant Police was received from Earl D. Powell, Jr. On Motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Stark the application was approved. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
