10-12-1964 Minutes1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas October 12, 1964 i I Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 12, 1964. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Rundquist, the roll was called and Commissioners Rundquist, Bull, Exline„ Spangler, Stark and City Attorney Bengtson responded. I The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 5, 1964 were read and approved. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and thergIby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing, the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Bull, Exline, Spangler, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6820. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first reading September 28, 1964. 20 day Notice of Hearing up on the Rezoning of 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, Block 10, Shalimar Plaza Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas from District "C" to District "D". (Local Business). No protests written or oral were filed. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Stark an ordinance was introduced for first reading for the rezoning of the property. Carried. Ordinance Passed: (J�-���. Number: A resolution was introduced and passed entitled; "A resolution determining the advisability of certain sidewalk, street, sewer, water mains and hydrant improvements, estimating the cost thereof, defining the boundaries of the improvement district, method of assessment, and apportioning the cost between the improvement district and the City at large." On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Rundquist, Bull, Exline, Spangler, Stark (5). Nays: (0). Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2798. Carried. I Request from Mrs. Leslie Allen to keep horses at 1327 North Front, held over from October 5, 1964. On motion of Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Spangler, the request was approved. Carried. (City -County Health Department approved the request) A letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding Petition Number 271. approving the rezoning of Lot 1, Block 1, Mayfair Addition from Zone "A" to Zone "D" (Loc'al Business) 1103 East Wayne. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Stark the tecommendation was accepted and the City Clerk was instructed to publish Notice of Hearing. Carried. Petition was filed against the rezoning of the North 35' of the South 65' of the West 430 ' of Block 10, Riker Addition requested in Petition Number 2793 filed by F. A. Brown, Harold Becker, and Burton Fosnot a week ago and referred to the City Planning Commission. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull, no action taken regarding letter from the Board of Education to vacate T.feet of McAdams Road. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull, no action taken on the position of Parole Officer. Held over to next meeting. Carried. Motion by Commissioner Exline seconded by Commissioner Bull that they be accepted and approved. carried.
