COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM

August 24, 1964
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 24, 1964. Meeting was called
to order by Acting Mayor Exline, the roll was called and Commissioners Exline, Bull
Spangler, and Stark and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Rundquist absent.

The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 17, 1964 were read and approved.
Mr. Harold Pellegrino, from the Kansas Highway Commission, Topeka, was present and
presented the traffic report, analysis for 1964 based on 1963 data.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for

the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Stark the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Exline,
Bull, Spangler, Stark (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Rundquist absent. Acting Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6810. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for
first reading August 17, 1964.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for
the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and
thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and
prescribing the proper uses thereof."

On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Exline,
Bull, Spangler, Stark (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Rundquist absent. Acting Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6811. Carried, Ordinance was introduced for
first reading August 10, 1964.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution authorizing and
ordering certain sewer, and water mains and hydrant improvements, ordering preparation of
plans and specifications, and the estimate of costs."
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Bull the resolution was
approved as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Exline, Bull, Spangler, Stark (4)F
Nays: (0). Commissioner Rundquist absent. Acting Mayor approved the resolution and it
is numbered 2789. Carried.
Petition Number 2782 was filed by 17 property owners on Kiowa asking to have the
name changed to Kenton Drive or Bonneville Drive or Twin Oakes Road. On motion of
Commissioner Stark, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the petition was referred to the
City Planning Commission.
Application was received from Kansas Landscape and Nursery for renewal of their
Tree Trimming License. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler
the application was approved.
Petition Number 2783 was filed by Robert A. Hansmann for the rezoning of Lots 1, 2, 31,
5, and 6 in Block 10, Shalimar Plaza Addition from Zone "C" to Zone "D". Corner of
Shalimar Drive and Ohio. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner
Stark the petition was referred to the City Planning Commission.
Mr. Harold Jaeger appeared regarding Ohio, as to calling it Street, Avenue or
Boulevard. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Spangler it was
referred to the City Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Stark the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
