Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners June 8, 1964. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Tucker, the roll was called and Commissioners Tucker,Exline, Rundquist and
Spangler, and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Bull absent.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 25, 1964 were read and approved.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance for the
vacation of a certain alley within the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas':
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinbnce
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes:
Tucker, Exline, Rundquist, Spangler, (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Bull Absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 6793. Carried. Ordinance was introduced
for first reading May 25, 1964.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing
for the vacation of certain easements located in Block 12 in the Replat of Lots one to
fifteen, inclusive, Garden Homes Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas."
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "AN ordinance amending
Section 20 of Ordinance Number 6773, relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, and
repealing said original Section 20 of Ordinance Number 6773."
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes:
Tucker, Exline, Rundquist, Spangler (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Bull absent. Mayor
approved ordinance and it is numbered 6792. Carried. Ordinance introduced first reading 5/
City Engineer filed plans on Street Improvement Job 446 and Ordinance Number 6791.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the plans were
accepted and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be received on
June 15, 1964. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the hearing
for street improvements in Faith Addition, Resolution Number 2779, Job 431 was adjourned
to June 15, 1964 at 4:00 P. M. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Spangler an Ordinance
for Lateral Sanitary Sewer 494 and Main Sanitary Sewer "AK" in Riker Manor Addition was
introduced for first reading Carried.

Petition Number 2762 was checked for the vacation of a north and south utility
easement between Lots 6 and 7 in Block 9, Replat of Faith Addition and recommended Okay.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the vacation of the i
utility easement in Block 9, Replat of Faith Addition was approved. Carried.
City Engineer filed estimate number 14 on Water Treatment Plant - Clem Less, Inc.
in the amount of $36,320.34. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner
Exline the estimate was approved. Carried. j

Petition Number 2763 was filed for Sanitary Sewer to serve Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, Block 1,
Pacific Addition. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Spangler
the petition was referred to the City Manager for checking. Carried.
An application for Merchant Police was received from Clarence M. Smith for renewal.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Spangler the application
was approved. Carried
Gypsum Hill Cemetery Trust Deed for perpetual care on All of Lot 2 and part of Lot 1,
Block 8, was filed by Lucile M. Weisgerber. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded
by Commissioner Spangler the Cemetery Trust Deed was approved. Carried.
Gypsum Hill Cemetery Trust Deed for perpetual care on East 2 of North 2 of North
of Lot 5, Block "B" was filed by A. B. Faulkner. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist,
seconded by Commissioner Spangler the Cemetery Trust Deed was approved. Carried.
City Engineer filed estimate number 8 on Job 430 Street improvements - Construction
Industries -in the amount of $59,914.17. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded
by Commissioner Exline the estimate was approved. Carried
City Engineer filed Final Estimate on Job 439 - L. W. Rexroad and Sons - in the
amount of $16,254.81. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner
Rundquist, the final estimate was approved. Carried.
City Engineer filed Partial Estimate Number 1 - Job 449 - Streets - Brown and Brown -
in the amount of $19,784.70. On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner
Rundquist the estimate was approved. Carried.
City Engineer filed Partial Estimate Number 3 - Job 445 - Streets - Brown and Brown -
in the amount of $11,732.72. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner
Spangler, the estimate was approved. Carried
City Engineer filed Partial Estimate Number 6 - Job 440 - Streets - Brown and Brown -
in the amount of $30,411.81. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner
Spangler, the estimate was approved. Carried
Anderson -Johnson and Bucher -Willis filed Phase 3 of City -County Feasibility Report.
On motion of Commissioner Spangler, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the Feasibility
Report was accepted and filed. Carried.
Petition Number 2764 was filed against the rezoning in Riker Manor Addition.
Filed with Rezoning Notice.
A motion was made by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Spangler
that 427.68'X 200' in the southwest corner of Riker Manor Addition be rezoned to "DD" and
the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice of hearing. (West 200 ' of the South
427.68' of the Southwest Quarter of Section 17, Township 14, South, Range 2 West of the
6th Principal Meridian. Carried.
Application for Refund on Coupon # 22 (Bond 579) Waterworks issued 10-1-25 in the
amount of $22.50 to State Fiscal Agency. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded
by Commissioner Exline the application was approved and the Mayor was authorized to sign.
Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled-- "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance wa;
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Tucker,
Exline, Rundquist, Spangler (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Bull Absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered A-1224. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
