Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 27, 1964. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Tucker, the roll was called and Commissioners Tucker, Bull, Exline,
Rundquist and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Spangler absent.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 20, 1964 were read and approved.
Report was received from the City Manager on Car Bids. On motion of Commissioner
Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the bid was awarded to Sid Bacon Motor Company
for $2,865.92 including Radio and Air conditioner, as recommended by City Manager. Carr
A Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "Resolution authorizing the
acceptance of a Grant Offer from the United States relating to the development of the
Salina Municipal Airport, Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull, the resolution
was adopted as read and the following vote was had: Ayes: Tucker, Bull, Exline,
Rundquist (4). Nays: (0). Commissioner Spangler absent. Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 2777. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing fo
the resurfacing with asphalt Elm Street from face of curb to face of curb, from the east
line of Seventh Street to the west line of Ohio Street; resurfacing with asphalt Fourth
Street from face of curb to face of curb, from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north
line of South Street; and providing for the payment of the cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had: Ayes: Tucker,
Bull, Exline, Rundquist (4). Nays (0). Commissioner Spangler absent. Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is numbered 6783. Carried. Ordinance was introduced for first
reading April 20, 1964.
Petition Number 2757 for abatement of nuisance at 646 South Santa Fe, was filed.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the petition was
referred to the City Attorney. Carried.
City Engineer filed estimate number 1 on River Basin.- Jarvis Construction in the +
amount of $38,365.78.

On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was
approved. Carried.

City Engineer filed estimate number 12 on Treatment Plant - Clem Less, Inc. - in the 1
amount of $21,043.37.

On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was
approved. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull an Ordinance was
introduced for first reading for levying special assessments for water services installed
in Job 435, in miscellaneous streets.

On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist an Ordinance was
introduced for first reading for levying special assessments for paving certain streets
in Job 435. j

Motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull that City Planning
Commission letters of April 20th on Petitions 2724 and 2729 be laid on the table for
discussion. Carried.
Motion by Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Exline that petitions
i numbered 2724 and 2729 be referred back to the City Planning Commission for their further]
consideration. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the Tree Trimming
Application # 7 for McKenna Tree Service was approved. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the Tree Trimming
Application # 8 for Jerry Green was approved. Carried.
