COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING

March 30, 1964
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 30, 1964. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler,
Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 23, 1964 were read and approved.
Notice of hearing for Lots 46, 48, 50 & 52 Jones Addition - known as 614, 616,
618 North Second. No persons were present to protest. On motion of Commissioner
Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the was authorized to proceed to
despose of buildings. Carried.
Notice was received from the Salina Transit Company for the termination of bus
service as of May 30, 1964 at 11:59 o'clock P. M. Notice was filed by the City Clerk.

City Engineer filed estimate number 11 on the Water Treatment Plant - Clem Less
Inc., in the amount of $21,966.67.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was
approved. Carried.
Cereal Malt Beverage application was filed by Safeway Stores at 1808 S. 9th.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the application
was approved. Carried.
Concrete Construction Bond was filed by Paul Lamas Construction Co. - Abilene,
Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the
bond was approved. Carried.
Concrete Construction Bond was filed by Harbin Construction Company. On motion
of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the bond was approved.
Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline an ordinance was
introduced for first reading amending section 11 - Ordinance Number 6773 Special
Assessments - Job 425. Carried.

On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline an ordinance was
introduced for first reading for City Limits. !Carried. 7

On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist - Norris D.
Olson was appointed City Manager beginning May 1, 1964 at a salary of $12,000.00 per
year and the City is to furnish a car. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist a Pool Hall
j License was approved for North Santa Fe Recreation 806 N. Santa Fe. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes:
Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered A-1216. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Exline the Board of Commissioners ad'ourned.

A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution determining that
the structures located on the properties commonly known as 614,616 and 618 North
Second Street, Salina, Kansas, constitutes a nuisance and should be abated."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the resolution
was adopted as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline,
Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered
2772. Carried.

Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 30, 1964. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler,
Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded.
Meeting was held for the purpose of acting on the appraisers report for Job 4.35.
No protests written or oral were filed.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the report was
approved as read. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Exline the Special Meeting adjourn/e� .
