03-23-1964 Minutes7-7 L L7 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas March 23, 1964 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 23, 1964. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 16, 1964 were read and approved. Report was made on the bids received on March 16, 1964 for the River Treatment Desalting Basin. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the bid was awarded to Jarvis Construction Co, in the amount of $71,890.00. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance condemning certain land within the City of Salina, Kansas, for the use of said City in the widening and improvement of Riverside Drive from Ash Street to Elm Street and fixing the benefit district therefore and providing for the payment of the dolts thereof." On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6776. Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading March 16, 1964. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the outside lighting contract with Kansas Power & Light for 2 400 watt Mercury vapor flood lights at Memorial Hall was approved. Carried. Cereal Malt Beverage application was filed by Al Claus d/b/a Panjo's Pizza 675 S. Ohio. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the application was approved. Carried. Plat was filed for Lee Industrial Park. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the plat was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Letter was received on March 9, 1964 from City Planning Commission regarding petition number 2939 filed by Robert L. Albers for the rezoning of E. 100' S. 140' & N. 130' Lot 12, Block 1 Tucker Park Addition. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the letter was referred back to the City Planning Commission. Carried. Bob Crawford - Wilson Engineering Company filed a report on Water & Sewage Department as required by the Bond Ordinance. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the City -County Building report Phase II was filed by Bucher & Willis & Anderson -Johnson was approved and accepted. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the City Manager & City Attorney was authorized to enter into negotations with certain townships with regard to Fire Protection. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Tucker the Board of Commissioners adjourned. r City Cle k
