Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 9, 1964. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull,
Exline, Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 2, 1964 were read and approved.
Bids were received on pipe for the Water Department. On motion of Commissioner
Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the bid was awarded to Salina Supply Co. in the
amount of $6.35 per foot. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying
and confirming a contract with Brown and Brown, Inc. for the construction of Lateral
Sanitary Sewer 491 and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost
thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes:
Spangler, Bull, Exline, Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered 6774. Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading
March 2, 1964.
Hearing was held on Job 428 - Special assessments in Wallerius Addition to -wit:
1. This improvement consits of the curbing, guttering and paving of:
(a) Otto Avenue, from the east line of Haskett Avenue to the west
line of Broadway Boulevard.
(b) Venus Avenue, from the east line of Neptune Avenue to a
point 36 met east of the east line of Hageman Avenue.
(c) Jupiter Avenue, from the east line of Neptune Avenue to the
west line of Hageman Avenue.
(d) Mercury Avenue, from the east line of Hageman .Avenue to a
point 345 feet east.
(e) Mars Avenue, from the south line of Otto Avenue to a point
395 feet south.
(f) Neptune Avenue, from the south line of Otto Avenue to a
point 565 feet south.
(g) Hageman Avenue, from a point 140 feet north of the north
line of Otto Avenue to the south line of Jupiter Avenue.
(h) Tulane Avenue, from a point 140 feet north of the north line
of Otto Avenue to a point 130 feet south of the south line of
Otto Avenue. I
2. Water main to be installed in all the above described streets with a
1 -inch copper service provided at each lot.
3. The Sanitary Sewer to serve all lots and parcels within the benefit
district.
4. Sidewalks at all intersections and corner lots in each block of benefit
district.
No protests written or oral were filed.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the proposed
assessments were approved. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull an ordinance was
introduced for first reading for special assessments on Job 428. Carried.

Letter was received from City Planning Commission on Petition number 2939 for the
rezoning of E. 100' of S. 140' & N. 130' Lot 12, Block 1 Tucker Park Addition to
District "F".
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the letter was
tabled for the present. Carried.

Letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding petition number
2742 for inclusion of land within the City Limits.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the letter was
tentatively approved subject to the City Attorney getting letter of approval on City
Limits and payment of water line. Carried.
Cereal Malt Beverage License Application was filed by Mablee LeDuc d/b/aTiger at
812 W. Grand. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the
application was approved. Carried.
Petition number 2743 was filed in protests of trailer court on W. side 300 Block
of South Ohio Street.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition
was referred to the Zoning Board of Appeals - Special Classes. Carried.
Petition number 2744 was filed for sanitary sewer in Block 12 Riker Manor Addition.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the petition was
referred to the City Manager. Carried.
Petition number 2745 was filed for street & other improvements on Brookwood Lane
Crestwood & Driftwood Lanes. On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner
Bull the petition was referred to the City Manager. Carried.
City Engineer filed estimate number 5 on Ohio Street Job 430 - Construction
Industries - in the amount of $15,339.91.
On motion of Commissioner Exline, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate
was approved. Carried.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution finding that it
is advisable and necessary to improve and widen Riverside Drive from Ash Street to Elm
Street and finding that it is necessary to appropriate private property therefore and
directing the City Engineer to file a survey and description of the land so required."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Exline the resolution
was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Exline,
Rundquist and Tucker (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered
2772. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
