Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 24, 1964. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler,
Bull, Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Exline
Absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 17, 1964 were read and approved.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating.
to the paving of the Alley First East of Hancock Street with concrete (Ten (10) feet
wide from the north line of Franklin Avenue to the south line of Venango Street."
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the resolution
was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Rundquist
and Tucker (4) Nays(0) Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 2771. Carried. Resolution Introduced for first reading February 17, 1964.
City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications on Lateral Sewer 491. On motion
of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the Plans and Specifications
were approved and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids on March 2,
1964. Carried.
City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications on Lateral Sewer 493. On motion
of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the Plans and Specifications
were approved. Carried.
Curbing, guttering and paving certain streets, installation of sanitary sewers,
water mains and sidewalks in Wallerius Addition as authorized by Resolution Number
2665 passed by the Board of Commissioners on October 16, 1962 has been determined and
that final costs have been filed by the City Engineer.
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the City Clerk
was instructed to publish notice in the official paper at least once, not less than
10 days prior to the date of March 9, 1964, the date set for the hearing on said
assessments, and that at the same time notice is published, to mail to the owners of
property made liable to pay the assessments, at their last known post office address
a notice of the hearing and a statement of the cost proposed to be assessed against
the land so owned and assessed.
Petition number 2742 was filed for inclusion of part of Southeast Quarter of
Section Thirty-five, Township Thirteen South, Range Three West into the City Limits.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition
was referred to the City Planning Commission. Carried.
Letter was received from Capt. Bud Tillett of the Traffic Department regarding
the crosswalks & jaywalking areas in downtown areas. The letter was read & taken
under advisement.
Plans and Specifications were filed on River Water Treatment Desilting Basin.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the plans and
specifications were approved and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids
on March 16, 1964. Carried.
The Salina Jaycees filed their Salina Sommunity Survey for 1963 & 1964.
Bucher & Willis filed the Water Distribution Analysis report.

The City
