02-10-1964 Minutes38 e COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING COMMISSIONERS ROOM Salina, Kansas February 10, 1964 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 10, 1964. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Exline absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 3, 1964 were read and approved. Report was made of the street department sweeper bids. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the bid was awarded to the Elgin Sweeper Co. in the amount of $9,970.00. Carried. Bids were received on the part department mowers. The riding mower bids are as follows: Stauffer Hardware $1,250.00 Waters $1,370.00 Turf Equipment $1,470.00 On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the bid will be awarded to Stauffer Hardware for $1,250.00 IF it meets the specifications. Carried. Bids were received on the Industrial Flail Mowers. The bids are as follows: Salina Farm Supply $410.00 Vahsholtz Implement Co. $423.00 On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the bid was referred to the City Manager for checking & report at the next meeting. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas" On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6766. Carried. Ordinance introduced for first reading February 3, 1964. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the resurfacing with asphalt Elm Street from face of curb to face of curb, from the east line of Seventh Street to the west line of Ohio Street." gOn motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the resolution was adopted as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the resurfacing with asphalt Fourth Street, from face of curb to face of curb, from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north line of South Street." ° On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the resolution was adopted as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2770. Carried. Resolution introduced for first reading Feb 3, 1964. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 6613 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." j! On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the ordinance was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. Petition number 2738 was checked for Sanitary Sewer in Replat of University Add. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist an ordinance was introduced for first reading. Carried. Carried. Petition number 2740 was filed for street improvements on Linda Lane, Gail Drive Joanne Lane in Bonnie Ridge Addition. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition was tabled for further study. Carried. Petition number 2741 was filed for paving of alley East of Hancock from Venango to Franklin. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the petition was Carried. City Engineer filed partial estimate on Job 430 - Construction Industries in the amount of $7,032.07. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed final estimate on Street Job 435 - Brown & Brown.in the amount of $9,367.80. On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. City Engineer filed final estimate on Sanitary Trunk Lines - ABC Construction Co. in the amount of $2,000.00. On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Bull the estimate was approved. Carried. Mayor appointed Alan Hocking to the Bluejay Baseball Park Board to April 3, 1965. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the appointment was approved. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the trust deed for Ralph S. Todd was approved. Carried.
