COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS - REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM
Salina, Kansas
January 27, 1964
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 27, 1964. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Commissioners Spangler, Rundquist
and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioners Bull and Exline absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 20, 1964 were read and approved.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating
to the paving and grading of Second Street with concrete (Twenty-eight (28) feet wide
from toe of gutter to toe of gutter) from the north line of Forest Avenue to the south
line of Woodland Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the resolution
was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Rundquist and
Tucker (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Bull and Exline absent. Mayor approved the
resolution and it is Numbered 2766. Carried. Resolution introduced for first reading
January 20, 1964.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution recommending the
adoption by the congress of the United States of the federal airport act extension."
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the resolution
was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler, Rundquist and
Tucker (3) Nays: (0)- Commissioners Bull and Exline absent. Mayor approved the
resolution and it is Numbered 2767. Carried.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled:
A resolution accepting phase one of the feasibility study of a governmental center
for Saline County and City of Salina as prepared by Anderson -Johnson architects and
Bucher & Willis consulting engineers and authorizing the continuation of said
feasibility study.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the
resolution was approved as read and the following vote was had; Ayes: Spangler,
I Rundquist and Tucker (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Bull and Exline absent. Mayor
approved the resolution and it is Numbered 2768. Carried.
C City Engineer filed estimate number 9 on the Water Treatment Plant - Clem Less
Inc. in the amount of $22,320.73.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the estimate
was approved. Carried.
Petition number 2737 was filed for street lights in the 200, 300 & 400 Block of
West Ash.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the petition
was referred to the City Manager. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the leas
agreement with the Smoky Valley Masonic Lodge & the City of Salina was approved.
Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
