Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 16, 1963. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Spangler, the roll was called and Cowlissioners Spangler,
Bull, Rundquist and Tucker and City Attorney Bengtson responded. Commissioner Exline
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 9, 1963 were read and approved.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying
and confirming a contract with Brown and Brown Inc. for the construction of certain
improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, and providing for the
issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of
bonds."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes:
Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6757. Carried. Ordinance introduced for
first reading 12-9-63.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance for the
vacation of a certain alley within the City of Salina Saline County, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Tucker the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes:
Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6758. Carried. Ordinance introduced
for first reading 12-9-63.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance prescirbing
the corporate limits of said City, including land described in Ordinance Numbered
6731, 6719, 6698 and 6686 and repealing Section 1 of Ordinance Number 6682."
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the ordinance
was adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes:
Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6759. Carried. Ordinance introduced
for first reading 12-9-63.
Letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding petition 2727
for the rezoning of Lots 40 & 42 Less W. 40' & Lot 38, Block 3 VanTrines Addition
from District "C" to District "D".
On motion of Commissioner Rundquist, seconded by Commissioner Bull the letter
and recommendations were accepted and the petition was denied. Carried.
Letter was received from the City Planning Commission regarding petition number
2730 for the rezoning of Lots 3 & 4, Plat 3 Lamer's 2nd Sub -Division from District
"A" to District "B".
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the letter
was accepted and the City Clerk was instructed to publish notice. Carried.
City Engineer filed final estimate on Job 441 - Asphalt resurfacing - Brown &
Brown in the amount of $12,964.43.
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner Rundgtiist the estimate
was approved. Carried.
Cereal Malt Beverage Application was filed by Clarence 0. Base d/b/a North
Santa Fe Recreation.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker, seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the
application was approved. Carried.
Gas fitters bond was filed by Clem Less Inc. On motion of Commissioner Bull,
seconded by Commissioner Rundquist the bond was approved. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an
approvripation for payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Bull, seconded by Commissioner. Tucker the ordinance was
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the following vote was had; Ayes:
Spangler, Bull, Rundquist and Tucker (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Exline absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-1200. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Tucker the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
